A California payments company plans to open its second North American operations center in Omaha by this summer and employ about 300 people within a year.
The company, i2c Inc. of Redwood City, California, helps financial institutions, corporations and government agencies provide credit, debit, prepaid and other payment and commerce solutions through a cloud-based computer system called Agile Processing.
The company said Tuesday its Omaha investment would total $30 million over four years. It is making final plans for its Omaha location.
The office would expand i2c's account management, operations and client services divisions and have a network operations center, similar to a center it opened in Montreal, Canada, in 2016.
In a press release, Amir Wain, i2c's founder and chief executive, said the Omaha center will support the company's growth.

Agree will be interesting to see where they end up. All other larger fintech companies are in mid to west Omaha, will see if they follow.Garrett wrote:Now that's a more exciting get than that lame press conference yesterday. I wonder where they'll end up.

Re: i2c Inc
Any ideas where this could be if they do go downtown?"I'm not worried at all," Johnson said. "We're going to be an employer of choice, obviously pay well. We'll have a premier location and a premier facility."
The company hasn't signed a lease yet but has chosen an existing building close to bus lines and with easy access, Johnson said. She declined to reveal its location before singing a lease.

Interesting they added to the article since I posted it here. Ms. Johnson was an exc at First Data before switching to i2c. Her familiarity with Omaha clearly helped us here.CyborgKen wrote:Any ideas where this could be if they do go downtown?"I'm not worried at all," Johnson said. My completely uninformed guess is that they will end up in the office building NW of 90th and Dodge. It has about 50K SF of vacant space pretty good central location, it is on a bus line. With how fast they are planning on ramping up their workforce seems like they need something ready to go ASAP. Not a ton of that kind of space DT or Midtown right now.

That said, if they were to ultimately locate DT, I wonder if they could be part of the mixed use component of the Civic site.. We have a nice First Data relocate rumor going on there, plus the added intrigue of a former FD exec now working at i2c..it would make for an interesting combo..
Speculation is always pretty fun...

Blegh. Part of me was hoping Toast and i2c would go in on a downtown office together since they're both coming to town around the same time and do similar things.skers5xnc wrote:Northpark is odds on favoriteLouie wrote:Fingers crossed they grab some DT office space.

Agreed on that. Perhaps there’s still an outside chance that one or both of them will locate within the DT core..Garrett wrote:Part of me was hoping Toast and i2c would go in on a downtown office together since they're both coming to town around the same time and do similar things.skers5xnc wrote:Northpark is odds on favoriteLouie wrote:Fingers crossed they grab some DT office space.

i2c, a leading global provider of payments processing technology and services, today announced the purchase of a premier office building in Omaha, Nebraska to facilitate strong company and customer growth worldwide. Upon completion of renovations, the 29,000 square foot facility will house the company's Omaha operations center, which i2c opened earlier this year at a separate location. The new space will be used to expand the company's account management, operations, and client services divisions and will also house a Network Operations Center (NOC). The company plans to create 300 new positions within the Omaha operations center's first year.
"Our business is experiencing robust growth, and we are thrilled to continue our investment in Omaha's thriving financial technology community," said Peg Johnson, EVP of Global Client Success at i2c and Omaha native. "The acquisition of this office space gives us the opportunity to build out a work environment that brings the innovative energy and atmosphere of Silicon Valley to Omaha, different from the environment at First Data where I spent nearly 20 years of my career."
The property, located at 808 North 108th Avenue, offers an ideal location with easy access to transportation. The Omaha center is the second major operations center in North America, following the opening of a center in Montréal, Canada in 2016.

That's a great addition to the Old Mill/Miracle Hills area. 300 new people in that area should give it a good boost.iamjacobm wrote: Tue Sep 25, 2018 9:06 am https://www.prnewswire.com/news-release ... 18197.html
