I came across this article about a possible development in Waterloo:

The fire chief is looking to build a few apartment building and some residential lots. The article says that the land to be developed is south of Madison Street and close to the library. There is undeveloped land bounded by Madison and 7th street that is probably where this will be located. No posting of the proposed plat, unfortunately.

The proposed development is a 90 unit apartment complex consisting of four buildings and 20 residential lots for SF, duplexes or townhomes. For a village of less than 1000 people, this is a pretty big deal if they can follow through and fill up the units.
