Yep. That’s my zip code!..
From today’s W-H-
“Realtor.com, in its latest Market Hotness Index, catapulted 68144 to the No. 2 spot nationally after analyzing some 32,000 ZIP codes and how quickly houses were viewed and sold.
Area residents might remember that two years ago, the 68144 area — northeast of Zorinsky Lake — made No. 16 on the real estate listing website's hottest ZIP code list. Now it's second only to a ZIP code in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and a notch above one in Boise, Idaho.
While Omaha's 68144 area is 12 miles west of downtown, Doug Dohse of the Omaha Area Board of Realtors noted that it's in the thick of new development, including the growing Sterling Ridge mixed-use campus near 132nd and Pacific Streets.
Millennials, according to the group's research, are the dominant buying segment in 68144. They account for 43% of new mortgages and earn about $10,000 more each year than the national average for their age group.“...

That’s my zip code as well. Houses seldom take more than a week or two to sell. If they sit on the market for more than a month they usually aren’t priced right or need a bunch of work. Many sell in a few days.

I live in Harvey Oaks. Prices here have soared (relatively and compared to other Omaha neighborhoods) since we moved here a few years ago and houses usually sell within 30 days, sometimes less then a couple.

I think people like the location of the area and the schools. Parts of the eastern section is in Dist 66 and a large portion of the central and western part is Millard schools. Your in an established part of SW Omaha with mature trees and plenty of nearby retail and restaurants. Sterling Ridge and Heartwood developments are literally just minutes away, even popular Aksarben village is relatively close. And the best thing might be the close proximity to I-680 and I-80 which makes for a quick 15-20 min trip downtown.
