Millwork Commons posted on their Instagram that the tech crowdfunding firm Patreon has recently opened an Omaha office in the Mastercraft Building. They started with 3 employees and are up to 14 now locally.

Based on a quick look it appears Omaha joins San Francisco, New York, Dublin and Porto, Portugal as office locations for the company.

I just this on millwork commons Facebook page. This is pretty cool, especially for this area of downtown. Patreon is a very popular crowdfunding site, so it will be interesting to see how they grow here.

Based on this article, their plans to provide additional services to creatives, such as financial services, HR, and insurance, make sense of why they opened an Omaha office. They can keep business costs down, while recruiting talent in fintech, insurance, and other related industries to expand their business.

I was wondering if anyone knows if the Omaha location was affected by the layoffs reported here:

They were one of the companies I was thinking about that might be doing OK in this situation, and it appears to be true:

Over 70,000 new creators have signed up to Patreon since mid-March

I just hope we do not lose this regional office, especially as it has a potential to help anchor Millwork Commons.

So, I guess the Patreon Office in Omaha is growing, or at least not shrinking. They moved to a spot in the Old Market, 1022 Leavenworth, tripling the space they leased at the Mastercraft. Anyway, I just happened to come across this video of the move from a year ago.
