Floor and Decor 77th & Dodge

This will be on Rose Blumpkin Drive where they currently park a bunch of Semi Trucks, north of the mart, west of Lowes.

Nice! A lot all the sudden going on around Crossroads, even though it might not necessarily be urban infill. I like it.

I always wondered what those trailers were parked there for.

It could be surmisable that the rest of that trailer parking area to the north of where this building will be will no longer be used for trailer parking and will be on the clock for something. Including the round glasses building.

Wasn't familiar with this company but this looks like a nice welcome to Omaha in terms of a relatively high-end business that's typically in larger cities. Nice location for them with a lot of opportunity that isn't served by NFM or Lowe's IMO.

Here's a map of their current locations:

I just peeked at some pictures of the store in KC; looks like an Office Depot for flooring and interior decorations. Anyway, I am glad there is new infill in the NFM area.

After further look, it looks like that is the case. 77th will be connected through to Harney, and a new Farnam Street will be build directly across from the entrance to Chik-fil-A. More of a business access road though. And it appears the new lot to the north of that new Farnam Street will be open for development.

That's a really lame headline and article.

Floor & Decor is in the pipeline, but nothing else, so far. But I can imagine the lot where the glasses store is could be a drive thru restaurant or two.

What are the odds this new development finally resolves one of the top candidates for ‘worst entry/exit design of a restaurant on Dodge’ (especially since they fixed the backwards Taco Bell drive thru on 71st...) It’s the often loathed McDonalds at 77th & Dodge! My colleagues and I rarely went to this location when I worked nearby specifically because it was impossible to get in, out, and back to the office during lunch hour.

The way these designs look, it appears this will connect to bring 77th (or a new chunk of Farnam) over to Rose Blumkin and this becomes a fresh route with the ability to access the previously ‘dead end area’ businesses behind the restaurant from the East, and exit to the West by using the traffic light at Rose Blumkin & Dodge.

Nice!

I think it could work for a drive thru restaurant or two... But lets consider, what restaurants could we want there that aren't already in that area? I still have a feeling that much of what will go in this general area will not be very impressive. So I'm just going to keep my expectations low.

Maybe an Arby's. Speaking of that... The old Arby's building near 72nd and Farnam that has been several used car lots has the the yellow building condemned signs in the windows. That eyesore will hopefully soon be gone.

New commercial corridor near NFM expected to bring $43 million in investment
The new retail and apartment corridor proposed along the western edge of Rose Blumkin Drive is projected to cost about $43.5 million.

To be done in phases on a swath near Nebraska Furniture Mart, the initiative calls for construction of an 80,000-square-foot home improvement store and a couple of fast-food or retail service structures.

A later phase would demolish about 40,000 square feet of older property behind the McDonald's restaurant near 77th and Dodge Streets to make way for an apartment complex of about 250 units, said Ryan Blumkin, who is leading the plan by 121 Acquisition Company LLC, a subsidiary of NFM.
