Horseshoe Casino buffet is never going to reopen

I heard it from a pretty good source that the buffet at Horseshoe casino will not open back up after the Pandemic is over. The decision has been made and they are going to gut the area and fill it up with slot machines. My source was not an official source which is why I put this under rumors but its a done deal.

Covid has also killed the new Sportsbook at Harrahs. The Sportsbook at Harrahs opened in July of 2019 when sports betting became legal in Iowa and closed in March of 2020 due to the Pandemic. They spent over a million setting up that Sportsbook and it did not even last 9 months. They still have machines that you can make bets at but that is it. Again this is only what I have been told and seen myself and is not official.

CASINO = LEACH ON SOCIETY. People want to gamble so bad they don't even eat! Notice there is no development around the Casinos. No other businesses other than the hotels. Iowa has gained nothing by having them and Nebraska is stupid for getting them.

Iowa has pumped money out of them. No one wanted to build that close to the river. It was a crappy area before they built there.

I wouldn't say that Iowa has gotten nothing from them. The Iowa West Foundation was created from the casinos and money it has gotten has funded renovations to all the schools in CB, the Broadway improvement plan and other various public art pieces as well.

I support Nebraska getting casinos however the source here that you sight might be a little biased. Obviously they were going to paint things in the best light possible.
