Potentially one of Omaha's biggest housing developments ever..

From today's W-H:

'Home construction could start this summer on a subdivision that would be one of Omaha's biggest, the developer said.

The Omaha Planning Board on Wednesday approved a preliminary plan for the 550-acre Heritage development. The subdivision would have 1,016 lots and would be developed northeast of 150th and State Streets.

Omaha has rarely seen development proposals as large as the Heritage.

Hillsborough, first proposed in 1991, is believed to be the last subdivision as big - 1,141 houses and town houses at 144th Street and West Maple Road.'..

The W-H story link:

I'd say this potential development is pretty 'meatnormous' ..

Assuming Bennington is not stupid enough to force Omaha's hand, probably not for quite a while. I don't see Omaha wanting to take over those bonds.

Gross.

And who do they think they're fooling by calling it 'Heritage'?

It looks so rural, but look what happens if you are looking at the barn and you turn around.

I measured it today. On 156th street, from that last Celeberty/Hearthstone adition to the bennington Police/Fire starions its ONLY 1.4 miles, mennington might be sooner than we think. Hopefully before Fahey is done, that way we know it will happen and the new mayor won't pull a Ralston.

156th Street in to Bennington

I am going to take the next 2 pictures from the top of the hill between Bennington and Omaha. Fist one facing Bennington, second Facing Omaha, Notice how close they are(1.4 miles)
