Hill Condos?

I believe DTO tolled me these were the Hilltop Condos? I couldn't find a thread anywhere. This building is just east of KETV.

I’m just playing, but I think they are called just the Hill. But I’m sure they aren’t the Hilltop.

Yeah, they're called The Hill, and I believe it's actually the three adjacent historic apartment buildings right there.

This is actually a really exciting project and I hope it starts a trend.

There are a lot of other buildings in that area that need work. They could start with the twin towers, Ketv is looking very outdated, and that paking lot by the salvation army is an eyesore.

Haven't this buildings been in this state of "construction" for like a year two? What's the status of this project?

If done correctly, this has some real potential to do well. With all these conversions going on, the next natural step is new construction which is currently in the early stages. Omaha will continue to boom while larger cities that had they're boom earlier will slow. This is an exciting time for Omaha!

It appears they've sold units in the two buildings to the south... but this building along Douglas has been sitting in this same state for ages now. I'm not sure what's going on.

Looks like they are requesting TIF. Let's hope they are succesful. Glad to hear this project is not dead.

This project is now before the City Council:
The Athlone: 2567 Douglas - 12 one bedroom @ $85K and 3 two bedroom @ $131K condominiums
The Hudson: 207 S 26th Ave - 6 one-bedroom units @ $86K
The Douglas: 213 S 26th Ave - 6 one-bedroom units @ $81K

I do know that at least one, if not two, of the buildings have been renovated and the condos have been sold - the new owners are living there.

It's a 3 phase condominium project, 2 of which have been renovated already. The third phase is set for construction in April. This may be out dated information.

The first two buildings weren't gutted nearly to the extent which the one along Douglas has been.

Wow, talk about reviving a dead thread (and project)....

As I was driving along Douglas today, there were several workers at the Hilltop Condo project working on the 1 remaining vacant building, the one along Douglas St. They appeared to be removing some of the plywood covering the basement windows, and had Bobcats and other light equipment on-site. My guess is that they're getting ready to start work - probably on any re-enforcements necessary or waterproofing of the basement before real construction is to begin.

Glad to see that this long dormant site is starting to make some progress again. With the Midtown Crossing only a few blocks from here, property values of this (and other west downtown) locations should greatly increase, spurring along developments such as this one.

I walk by there every day (but on the Farnam side) and haven't noticed that. Those are nice looking buildings so I'm glad they may finally be back in use.
