Mosaic bell to move to Omaha

A prominent feature of the South 12th Street campus for the past 25 years the bell is being taken down and shipped to Omaha where it will become part of a memorial tower at Mosaic's national office in southwest Omaha at 4980 S. 118th St. The bell is to become an intricate piece of a 30-foot, three-sided, bell tower currently under construction. Valerie Stoj, Mosaic events coordinator, said the 97-year-old bell is an important part of Mosaic's history. It first hung above a rural schoolhouse in Sterling. A special dedication ceremony is scheduled for the bell tower on Oct. 28.
