A coworker and I tried Addy's wings over the weekend, getting the Garlic Wings (2015 is the year of the Chicken Wings), which were nice and spicy, moist wings like I like them. Good crowd for a cold windy night in Millard, our waitress was very attentive to our needs, checking on us multiple times during our stay, but had a math problem when trying to figure out our bill. I would have given the place four stars, but the beers available were standard Sports bar beers, I finally settled on Infusion's Joel Porter, which I have had at Infusion, but I could swear the Bowl hadn't been washed well enough from the previous user since it really smelled and partly tasted like an Apple Cider, which they have on tap. Such a buzz kill.

Not sure. I am guessing new one since there is not another close by. But just a guess.

New one. Should be a good location for them although there is a lot of competition between 168th and 132nd and Maple anymore.

This will be interesting with DJ's right across the street. I can only assume that these places have discovered how to survive on events, not day to day traffic.

They aren't the typical restaurant type for dt, but I think it was only a matter of time fir sorts bar and grills to find success there.

Just went to that location 2 weeks ago for the first time. It was pretty good. We got a plate of Nachos to share and it had the most meat I have ever had on a super nacho anywhere.

While enjoying some delicious spicy garlic wings yesterday, the bartender relayed that this project is still a go and expected to be moving into the new location in April (presumably 2024). Seems like an aggressive timeline since I don't believe they've started construction, but we'll see.

I've had a few work functions and happy hours at the Millard Addy's over the last several years. Parking at their existing Millard location is really tight. It's not so bad in the evenings as many of the surrounding businesses are closed and don't seem to care too much if you park in their lot. However, go to a large work party there before 5 on a weekday and you'll be parking up and down S street and walking and dodging traffic. So, a roomier location with ample parking would be a welcome change.

That doesn't surprise me. Over the last few months they've had a lot of kitchen staff turnover and bar staff either move locations or leave for personal reasons. The kitchen staff turnover definitely affected the food quality for the worse. We stopped going there in favor of RTG for delicious wings.

There’s just SO MANY sports bar/grill places, too, now. A lower quality one just isn’t going to make it with other options. Especially when some are really upping their kitchen game.

Yeah, we're there probably twice a week! My usual is 10 spicy garlic & 5 jerk, extra crispy, char buffed/double dip. Their ranch is probably my favorite anywhere.

This was their second location. They originally moved from what is now Corner Kick, a few blocks to the north. That location was more of a dive bar with the current Millard location trying to be a sports bar.

I stopped in there two Friday's ago and the only Lent item they had was a Po Boy. My friend had to order a fish Po Boy with no bread and veggies.

The number of sports bars in that section of Millard is amusing. Within about a 90 second drive of Addy's you've got Bogie's, Choo Choo, and Pheasant. I'm surprised Tanners and DJ's Dugout haven't built locations by CVS too. lol

So, I take it Addy's just decided to ditch Millard altogether? I kept an eye on the area around Hy-Vee and what used to be Super Saver expecting to see a new building go up, but alas...

So, I take it Addy's just decided to ditch Millard altogether? I kept an eye on the area around Hy-Vee and what used to be Super Saver expecting to see a new building go up, but alas...

I'd assume if it hasn't moved forward at this point. That said, they still do on the lot so it's possible.

I can't imagine building a new free-standing sports bar in today's environment. Prices to develop an undeveloped lot are really high. You would need to sell a ton of wings and beers to make up for all those costs.

We went to Addy's a bunch when it was small and they only had one then two locations. Once they went big it just wasn't the same. We try to support the small local mom and pop sports bar. We basically rotate between Barrett's, RTG, and Paddy McGowan's. Jimi' D's isn't really a sports bar, but its in the mix too.
