Block users - friends & foes

Did you know you can block users' posts on eOmahaForums?

Be signed in to your account.

Click a user's name, usually under the thread title header on one of their stupid |expletive| posts.

Click "add foe".

Click yes.

You'll still see that they posted, but not what they posted. You'll still see their posts if someone else quotes them.

But in the interim you'll at least be shielded from their derpitudity long enough to take a deep breath and move on with life, or at least a little further on down the thread.

there've only been a few people that ever really bugged me, so I ignored them at the time (cause I don't think the foe list was around back then). I don't want people to all have the exact same point of view, and there be no arguments or discussion, but some of them were just |expletive| miserable all the time and never seemed to have anything positive to say. Like, why even come here then?

On the flip side, what's the point of the friends list?

Does it put hearts all around their posts? Best buds alert goes off?

The whole friends/foe list seems silly to me, but to each their own.

I'm not sure if adding a "foe" also blocks them from seeing your own posts, or only blocks you from seeing theirs. I would assume that is a two way street.

Wait... in all my years I never knew about this. I think it's funny. Why would anybody get offended enough to actually block someone? I get we have some interesting posts from time to time, but it wouldn't be a discussion forum if a few feathers arent ruffled here and there. Isnt it a fundamental flaw to choose to look the other way just because it doesnt align with our opinion? I disagree with plenty of stuff posted here but I'd never block anybody. It's just a forum, all in good fun.

I think its less being offended and more about being annoyed... Most people that are offended want to fire back.

Couple examples of complaints I have heard where someone might block someone:
1. A certain member or members sticking their agenda in every single thread.
2. A certain member or members that post YouTube videos or tweets in every single thread.

Either way, its just simple enough to scroll past posts you don't like without blocking anyone.

Pretty sure you receive a notification with every post they make. It's a way to follow someone.

Foe = block
