I didn't find a topic that this fits in, so starting this.

Looks like South Dakota and Nebraska High School Athletics have agreed to schedule some games between Sioux Falls and Omaha area schools over the next two years. I like this for some non-traditional non-cof games. Here are this season's games. For the following season, the home location will be swapped


Brandon Valley @ Bellevue West - Friday, August 28
Sioux Falls Washington @ Millard North - Friday, September 18
Omaha Central @ Sioux Falls Lincoln - Friday, September 25
Omaha Westview @ Sioux Falls Jefferson - Friday, October 2
Omaha North @ Harrisburg - Friday, October 9

I just heard Millard South will be playing two Missouri high schools this season. In trying to find out why, I discovered some other Nebraska schools are also playing out of state opponents.

Apparently it was voted on last season to remove class boundaries, making future schedules a contest between the best 10-14 schools to decide a champion, not geographical location.The pool of 10-14 teams is subject to change yearly based on a school's performance from the previous season.

So it sounds like school's that perennially do not perform well wont be a part of that 10-14 team pool. Schools in Omaha like Northwest, Bryan, Benson, and South are likely not to be a part of it, in favor of selecting better teams across Nebraska, and apparently the region.

Its my understanding that top national teams have already been doing so. Is this just Nebraska catching up?

Trae Taylor, the #1 QB nationally and future Husker QB, along with the other players that make Millard South Nebraska Prep , squeeze by with a one point victory.

Honestly that would not have been the issue you are making it out to be. Millard North brought in players as well. One is senior 5 star DB Tory Pittman who is also a Nebraska commit….

Well hey, maybe not for you personally, but given how fragile the psyche of the average Husker fan, the panic button would be lighting up. Cause when was the last time our presumptive future QB played high school in the state? Crouch? Have you ever visited a Husker Football forum?
Im not freaking out cause it didnt happen. Heck, I wouldnt freak out at all if it did, but I know there's a group of Husker fans that pick apart every little detail that certainly would see the sky falling.

If you are stacking the future of the Huskers on one game and how it turned out for a High School game, you are part of the problem. There are way too many variables to say that how this game and games this season play out will be the results for Lincoln. Sure, it can be a chance to evaluate, but coaching, surrounding talent, and the opponent level have to all factor in

Im not. I visit that husker forum maybe once, twice a year, and its tough to get any real benefit off the information posted, because people do freak out. That place is just proof there ARE Husker fans that would do the above. Again, not me, but people.

Have I ever visited a Husker Football Forum? That's funny yes. I feel well versed in the fan base as a native, alum, season ticket holder, donor, and parent of a current UNL student.

The sky falling over one opening season game loss? I just don't see it from the rank and file. Even on the extreme you are talking and incredibly small percentage.
