Grand Island Swimming Pools/Options

Ive recently become frustrated by the city's approach to swimming pools. The more I have thought about it, I am wondering why the city is hanging on to Island Oasis when it would probably thrive under a private owner. Secondly, of the pools that I am aware of: Lincoln Pool, Stolley Park Pool, and Capital Heights, I feel like only one has had any real attention from the city. I'd love to see the city sell Island Oasis, take those funds, open a new well-supported pool west of Hwy 281 and a splash pad centrally located. It's sad that GI can't keep up with either Aurora and Wood River in these areas. They each have great facilities. The reality if you live on the west side of town, its faster to get to Wood River then to the east side of town to a pool there. I'd love to hear some other opinions on this.
