This is why the Combined Omaha and Lincoln Chambers’ Opt In program is so important. The tech jobs are here. The talent simply needs to know what’s available here in Omaha/Lincoln and be given a real, non jaded opinion of how great a place the Omaha area is to live.. Regardless of age or marital status..

The great thing now is, the Omaha Chamber is on top of this. Their goal of adding 10,000 tech workers to the metro in 5 years is an ambitious plan and goal, but also very doable..

The opportunities are available here and now. The word needs to get out. The days of Omaha being the nations “best kept secret” are OVER...

I agree w this 110%. And I’d like to add regulardless of age, marital status, race, sexuality because despite inaction from the state on many worker protections, Omaha has taken the lead and passed ordinances to protect minorities and LGBT people in the workplace. I’m not sure about Lincoln but I would assume the same from the college city.

100%. When I tell people out here in SLC about the Omaha/Lincoln tech scene, they are always surprised. But if people did their research, they would find things like this and see that there are so many opportunities and a thriving, diverse and quickly growing tech market with strong and industry leading companies.

Lincoln does offer legal protections for LGBT folks as well. On my recent visit, it was encouraging to see swarms of young people all over neighborhoods East of 72nd, and businesses catering to them. I remember remarking to family members that, 20 years ago, that same part of town seemed irredeemably scruffy and hopeless. The continuing transformation is really encouraging.
