Will this be the last time for first in nation Iowa caucus?

More and more talk nationally of possibly moving another state or group of states to be first in the nation primary replacing the Iowa Caucus in 2024. Iowa caucuses results are currently delayed at 9:48pm central time. Maybe have Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina all on the same day to kickoff the political season.

Personally I think Iowa & New Hampshire are good states to begin the process. They are both small, easily traversed and well-suited to retail politics (i.e. small groups). I know there are lots of non Iowa states that are jealous but it seems to work.

Those who don't like Iowa being the first are sure making noise!

I sure wish those in the position of being listened to would quit sensationalizing this issue until we find out for sure what really happened!

There needs to be four primary days spread out a moth apart or so. Deveinde the states into four groups ( that will be the hardest part) and have them in groups. There are many states that have NO say in the primary due to the reduction in candidates.

I've always considered the delegate selection process for national conventions kind of weird in some states, since political parties are private organizations, and not bound by statutes/laws. Virginia's will have state-wide elections some years, and conventions/caucuses on others---it's each state's party leadership's choice.

People have been talking about one or more states usurping Iowa for years, but it never happens. I'm all for keeping Iowa as first in the nation to choose the party nominees. At least it gets crooked politicians to pay attention to Iowa for a few days, and many of its residents benefit from all the free Casey's pizza and Busch Light paid for by rich campaign donors.

I suspect that this election debacle in Iowa will prove to be the death knell for Iowa’s caucus system. The state has 2 giant black eyes over this. It remains to be seen whether the national Democratic Party will strip Iowa of its place as the first state to vote in a presidential primary. I suspect they will have lost that privilege.

For a party that claims the 2016 election was rigged or hacked or whatever, they are doing a fine job of making it look like there is manipulation going on, and it's just ONE state's presidential contest.

There appears to be evidence of some social media organizing for the purpose of intentionally jamming the phone lines used to phone in precinct results.

And, remember, that shot above is from the Murdoch Post, and they will seldom if ever say anything positive about the Democratic Party, period.

Iowa Caucus reportedly dropped from top of Democrats’ calendar

DES MOINES, Iowa — The Iowa Caucus has led the nation’s voting calendar for every presidential election since 1976. However, the Democratic National Committee looks poised to take Iowa out of its prized position.

According to NBC News, South Carolina will likely lead off the presidential election calendar in 2024, with New Hampshire, Nevada, Georgia, and Michigan filling out the rest of the top five spots. That proposed order leaves Iowa on the outside looking in.

The order will likely be finalized during Friday’s meeting of the DNC’s Rules and Bylaws Committee.

If this does end up happening, It’ll be a pretty significant loss for Iowa…
