I'm embarrassed for Omaha

Post by stormchaser »

I'm embarrassed for Omaha when I see things like this. Yes, I realize these are things that happen all over the Country (not just Omaha) - but still.

I don't care if you're for or against Pride and/or what it stands for, that isn't the point of this post. The point is, what a stupid/childish thing to be doing (stealing flags from people) just because you don't agree with what the flag represents. As if what you say/think is the only way for people to live and the only reason you "care" now is because it's been politicized and made into something that it isn't.

It's a new level of stupid if you ask me and sad that it feels like our Country is moving backwards because of people like this.

i sincerely do not understand why people get so upset about it. It's like they think it's going to rub off or something. Some of the nicest, most genuine and caring people I've met are gay. Putting a flag up is a simple form of expression and hurts absolutely no one. I'd like to think all that ignorant hate would die off one day, but as a society we are not nearly as accepting as we claim to be.

It’s been a rough couple of years honestly. Homophobia is back on the rise again after some good years of progress and they’re getting louder than ever. Simply existing in public is enough to be called a groomer by a bunch of assholes. It’s been exhausting, and stuff like this is even happening in NYC.

Well our flags are still flying. And we have more in case they disappear.
Nice to see some of our neighbors (who are straight, as far as I know) flying Pride flags.

I'm not a flag / sticker person. But I've been debating on getting a flag for Pride. Or a bumper sticker at the least.

Just to show solidarity with everyone who has been historically treated so terribly by people like Pillen.

Does theft of political signs or religious signs fall into the same thing?

I'm more apt to judge them for not mowing their lawn and cultivating a dandelion farm that spreads into everyone's yard than the Trump, Biden, Pride or choose life things that they display.
