Sometimes I wish I never learned about anything urban planning, housing, development related. I may be a happier person living in Omaha, blissfully ignorant.

Meanwhile, visiting cities in the Sunbelt and North. I Realize that cities in the south are much more sprawled and car dependent. Even Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas, have been made car dependent with asphalt everywhere.
Omaha is so fortunate to have a walkable, connected core to work with and not be as scarred as cities in the sunbelt. Thank God Omaha did not grow horizontally in excess during the 60s and creating a spiderweb of freeways.
I just came from Tulsa, so I look forward to sharing pictures that point out the good things and bad things, which I observed. As both cities are alike in many ways, yet have different trajectories in urbanization.
Last week, I met this guy who is a mechanic in West Omaha. I picked up some keywords, which insinuated that he knew a bit on urbanism, as I heard him; he . I finished his sentence with "Not Just Bikes". His eyes glowed as I mentioned the channel, which he also followed.
We then dived into a deep conversation on proper urbanism and he told me how frustrated he was living in Elkhorn, where there are many places without sidewalks.
Knowing that a car mechanic in west omaha, which is a millenial, and talks to me about urbanism gives me plenty of hope.
Its time to reclaim the traditional approach to urbanism.
