Anybody remember when Target had automatic doors for only their exits, but not their entrances? This was back in the 70's and 80's. When I lived in Omaha in the 80's, my mom would go to Target frequently. The one on 132nd and West Center. We'd go with her. But anyway, I remember back then that they didn't have automatic doors for their entrance, only their exit.

Didn't this seem unusual to anyone? I mean Target having automatic doors for only their exits, but not their entrances?

I remember that and not being just target.

I would assume that the thought process at the start of auto doors was your hands are full, or you are pushing a cart full of stuff when leaving and mostly empty-handed when coming in. As they became the norm, they moved to both entry and exit doors.

Grocery stores? Really? Does that include HyVee, Baker's and No Frills? Albertsons always had automatic doors for their entrances and exits.
