$480 million+ investment by an LA Developer and Universal Music at 800 Grand in downtown Kansas City.

The new development is expected to include:

A landmark residential tower;
The adaptive reuse of the historic Scarritt building into a 167-key UMusic-branded destination hotel;
Nearly 320 multi-family residences;
28,000 square feet of ground-level retail;
A 1,400-seat music and entertainment venue
Recording studio

Sounds cool. Nothing against KC I know they have strong jazz history, but this concept seems like something to roll out in Nashville or Austin where there is more of a music tourism market than KC. Anyways will be interesting to see how it does.

Looks like a great addition to downtown. Height looks to be around 300 feet just a guess though.

Special use permit for the hotel was submitted this week along with some new renderings

i bet it won't be long and KC will have a 700'-800' tower built somewhere. They really seem to be nailing a lot of investments/investors in their downtown.
