The problem is that Nebraska has 2 million people, and Indiana has 6 million people. Omaha has one million people, and Indianapolis has 1.6 million. We could get considered. However, Lincoln needs way more hotel space.

True but there is also more competition for it in Indy. There's a Ritz Carlton under construction just down the street, and a huge JW Marriott that was built around the Super Bowl they hosted (among others). Many on here have mentioned getting one luxury hotel for Downtown Omaha, either near the mall or for Lot B.

Indy is a major convention/event market. I bet they have more rooms attached to their convention center than Omaha has in all of downtown.

That video did state they were ranked the best convention city by Forbes for several years running. Surprising to me, but hey what do I know.

To unabashedly be that guy, Indiana has almost 7 million people and Indianapolis has 2.2 million in the MSA.

I was in downtown Indy probably 10 years ago and was impressed with it even back then. It’s unlikely Omaha could snag a hotel like this, they have a much bigger population and convention business footprint to draw from.
