I heard a rumor that Berkshire and CBS Home are finally going to Merge. Both have had the same parent company for many years now.

Interestingly, CBSHOME has been owned by Home Services of America, which is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, for several years. Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Ambassador Real Estate was just a franchise renting the name until just a few months ago when Home Services of America bought the local franchise. At that point a merger seemed inevitable, which was formally announced today.
Many Omahans erroneously assumed the franchise was owned by BRK, but in all reality it was the other way around until now. So it makes total sense that the two will merge and drop the CBSHOME brand and absorb into BHHS since that name carries so much weight locally.
