Liberty Mutual

Post by ita »

I don't know if this is an error in the site I am looking at, but there are a couple jobs listed for Omaha with Liberty Mutual on Indeed. They include a claims adjuster and an attorney position. Is there an administrative office in town? I thought it might be an agent, but I don't know how they are structured and those jobs wouldn't be at an agents office. Nothing is showing up on Google as well. The listed zip on the postings is 68114.

Interesting. Keep in mind, Lincoln Financial Group purchased Liberty Mutual's group insurance business last year. There has been a ton of consolidation in jobs going on between Lincoln's key cities and Liberty's as the two entities merge into a giant group insurance monster.

There may be some need to have these positions housed in Omaha since Lincoln/Liberty has office space here on 90th and Indian Hills Dr. That's my best guess as to what is going on. I could be dead wrong.

I did not know that. Thanks for the info. The posting links a benefits page to Liberty Mutual, not Lincoln Financial. I read up a bit on the acquisition. Liberty Mutual sold it's group insurance to focus on it casualty and property products. The posting for the attorney position doesn't identify what kind of insurance products but does included a preferred knowledge or liability and property concepts. That seems like a Liberty Mutual post, rather than a Lincoln Financial. I checked it again and it does seem to be for Omaha. It requires NE bar license.

Liberty Mutual has had it's attorney's offices for their Nebraska and Iowa litigation here in Omaha for a long time. I interviewed for a law clerk job there in law school back in the late 2000s, and my best friend was an attorney there for about five years (I want to say 2012-2017ish) doing all their workers comp litigation. Their office used to be out at Miracle Hills but they moved to the Landmark building downtown in like 2015ish I think. Nationwide insurance also has their NE/IA litigation offices here (in the Travel and Transport building on 72nd).

So unfortunately it doesn't mean anything new is coming.
