Sleuthing time…yesterday I noticed a semi trailer for Holland Basham Architects in the parking lot of the former Veteran’s Club at 3113 s 70th St. This area has seen a lot of development in the past couple of years and I remember a World-Herald article talking about this specific site being shopped. Sure enough, when I checked the assessor website, the property was sold in August to “OVO Dev LLC”. OVO is registered with a PO Box at the 84th st post office. A previous address used for OVO is 2430 s 73rd st #200 which is shared with J. Development company, responsible for Swivel, the nearby Centerline apts, and the proposed Clove (old Econo lodge on Dodge).
It’s not a huge lot, so it could just be extra parking for the Centerline, but a smaller development or parceling it with something else both seem feasible as well.
Next, I wanted to check into the neighboring parcels to see if they were OVO owned as well and I saw the surface parking lot to the south (3221 s 70th st) had a very recent sale! Great Western Bank just sold this to “MH Ozone II LLC” in Kansas City who has the same address as KCLoftCentral in the Board of Trade Lofts building. This company’s buildings are all adaptive reuse of historic buildings which couldn’t be the case here, but with the architectural trailer and two recent sales to developers, there seems to be too much smoke to suggest something isn’t afoot here.
I am curious if anyone else has heard anything about either of these parcels.

That trailer has been there for months. It might be there for the house at 3206 S 71st St has been removed and construction is happening.
