This will be interesting - things can't seem to last in this location. Hopefully they can change the pattern!

It's kind of an odd space - hopefully the guy that owns the new concept isn't associated with the previously failed Over Easy (or B&G's) since it seems he has a reputation of not getting along with employees.

Over Easy opened in Nov. 2013 and closed last June. Hardly think that nearly ten years equates to "things can't seem to last in this location."

You're right - I stand corrected.

On the other hand I would like to know the argument as to why he couldn't keep it open, nor keep B&G's open for more than a few months' time at NEX. I heard speculation of disagreement over operating hours however I've owned retail businesses and when you sign a lease you agree to certain requirements (be it open hours, days of being open, etc). I find it hard to believe that it wouldn't have been worked out before someone spent thousands to renovate a space to convert it to the B&G's concept.

I do know from personal contacts that the management had issues with their staff (or the other way around). Needless to say, people didn't enjoy working for the business owner.

One other point - the owner of Over Easy who purchased the recipe and name for B&G was to open a location near 90th & Blond. I've heard that's a "no go" as well. B&G's lasted for what, about 60 years or so? Now all of a sudden B&G's food sucks? I think it could be an ownership/management issue.

Hydes is advertising that they’ve entered into a partnership with B&G Tasty foods, and have their original recipe. They are talking about adding some things over the holiday season.

The place on 168th & Q isn't too far from us... if they start selling B&G's loose meat, I may buy a sandwich once in awhile from them (unless it's $12).

I was at a party my brother in law put on one year where he had a literal pail of B&G's loose meat he was serving...

I've only been here once and that was like 6 months ago at their 168th & Q location. As I recall, we liked the food, but it was just a madhouse (Friday evening) and tables weren't getting cleaned off and my misanthropy starting kicking-in. lol We need to go back and give it another go.

Now Hydes says they will sell it themselves at the 168th location through the holidays, but will also act as a wholesaler, selling the meat to other bars and restaurants in town.

No, B&G will sell wholesale now to other restaurants. Hyde's Slydes is the first.
