Next year they plan to turn the 192nd & Dodge interchange into a diverging diamond interchange (DDI).

Next year already? That's great. I hope they don't stop paving north until they hit Maple Street...

Re: 192nd & Dodge Interchange
They seem confusing, but having encountered one for the first and only time, in practice, it's straight forward. I honestly didn't realize what was going on until I was on the other side.

Re: 192nd & Dodge Interchange
It's a bit concerning for the first time when you are on the wrong side of the road and can see oncoming traffic directly in front of you, albeit a couple blocks away. But after it was implemented on the NW 48th St. exit on I80 in Lincoln and using it many times it's not so bad. Granted, that's not exactly a high traffic interchange though. At any rate, here it comes!

Some people think they’re annoying. I personally think they’re cool. Then again I’m a bit of a highway geek.Coyote wrote: Sat Mar 02, 2024 5:31 am NDOT to construct 'diverging diamond' at west Omaha interchange

They need one of these on Cornhusker and Hwy 75, it’s been talked about but it sorely needed. Just the other day it took over 5 minutes to move from the west of the Hwy just to get on Hwy 75 northbound and it was 7pm on a wed night.

Re: 192nd & Dodge Interchange
Am I not remembering some of the diverging diamond interchanges I’ve been on in the past or does this one at 192nd St. have more “no turn on Red” signs then your typical diverging diamond interchange?

Re: 192nd & Dodge Interchange
I looked at Google Street View for the one in Lincoln and it doesn't have any. But it only has a single lane entering/exiting. I'm guessing the multiple lanes may be impacting that.Brad wrote: Tue Jul 15, 2025 1:40 pm Am I not remembering some of the diverging diamond interchanges I’ve been on in the past or does this one at 192nd St. have more “no turn on Red” signs then your typical diverging diamond interchange?

Seems like it would lower its efficiency?BRoss wrote: Tue Jul 15, 2025 2:01 pmI looked at Google Street View for the one in Lincoln and it doesn't have any. Any clue what we're waiting for here? All the cones actually make it more confusing.

I just drove through yesterday and was wondering the same. It's looked basically done for a bit now. My guess is there is a spot or two that still has the cement curing. That normally takes around 28 days.BuildTaller wrote: Tue Jul 29, 2025 2:14 pm Any clue what we're waiting for here? All the cones actually make it more confusing.
