Chipotle in Southport???

Has anyone else heard this rumor that Chipotle would be putting up a place in Southport (I think on the PayPal side)- It would make sense though. There's a Qdoba on 72nd and Giles area, but no Chipotle near Papillion or La Vista. There's a Chipotle in Bellevue, but that's over a 1/2 hour round trip from Papio or LV for "fast food". So here's to hoping it's true.

I hope so! I went driving through L street Marketplace thinking there was a Qdoba last night when I was on my way to LaVista. I drove right by southport too.

I hope so! right now there is nothing in the area, restaurant wise, that interests me in the least, and I drive by the area 8-10 times a week.

Where does this rumor originate from? I live very close to that area, and I would love it if Chipotle would open a location there. It truly makes sense, and would get lots of business. Wouldn't the next closest Chipotle be at 132nd & West Center instead of 25th & Cornhusker?

Depends on where you live in Papillion or La Vista as to which place is closer.

I've spoken to a manager at the Bellevue location (months/ year ago) and he advised that they would put a shop in either Shadow Lake or Market Point- well that came and went without anything. Then I heard they were on a freeze in the Metro and not going to build anymore for a while.

Then I spoke with a friend that was told by a manager at the Bellevue location- Southport.

So again, this is all rumor- but I hope it's got some legs!!! It would make since for one out there.

It took 17 years, but there's now a Chipotle in the southeast corner of Southport Pkwy & Giles Rd.
