. . . Along with about 35 of his flying buddies, Adams will take to Council Bluffs' skies Thursday and Friday, forming a heavenly parade of 1920s aircraft and offering adventuresome residents a firsthand look at the Golden Age of Aviation. . . .
Adams invites area residents to view the Barnstormers Parade of Flight, in which about 25 1927-29 biplanes will fly overhead. Frank Rezich, "Mr. Travel Air," will entertain the crowd and tell barnstorming tales. Rezich will give each plane's history as they fly overhead.
Parades begin at 1 p.m. Thursday and Friday from the Council Bluffs Airport. Pilots will don goggles and scarves to offer $50 per person biplane rides till nightfall in the restored Travel Airs or New Standard D25s.
"These planes are unique two-seaters with an open cockpit," said Lisa LaMantia, owner of Advanced Air at the Council Bluffs Airport. "It's a good opportunity for families to show their kids these older planes. And the owners will be available to answer questions."
She also invites College World Series visitors to attend the event and get a birds-eye view of the metro.
Advanced Air is also hosting a hangar dance at the airport on Friday at 7 p.m.
There is a $10 cover charge, with drinks included for those 21 and older. . . .
