The highlighted units (or lack of) seems to suggest they've received commitments on a considerable number of them.

I Just want them to hurry up and get that movie theater done. That is probably the one thing I've missed the most since moving DT and not having a car is going to the movies.

Based on the way those "unavailable" units are grouped (same floors, front and back of each building), I'm not entirely sure they aren't releasing them in phases. The fact that there are "available", "unavailable" and "reserved" units might back this up. This is pretty much what SoMa did.

By my count, I see three that are actually "reserved". Who knows how up to date that is, though.

*edit: not sure where the potential apartment units come in to play, either,

Living up North too. The closest one is 72nd, and before that was 20 Grand or Council bluffs. Now there's going to be one straight on the thirty line. Woo!

It will be a bit of a walk from my place but I used to walk it when I worked at Mutual. This is going to be very cool once it finally opens. I hope the economy doesn't affect it too bad.

Hollywood actually had its BEST January ever in 2009. Seems when the economy tanks the movie industry has a stupendous year. It has always been thus, going back to the days of our last depression, in the 1930s.

I was actually thinking of the project overall but yes the movies have been historically recession proof. Maybe with that kind of draw at MTC it will be encouraging for other place to take the leap with the "safe bet" theater as a anchor.

You're right. During the Depression, people always found money for movies, booze and cigarettes.

Hi! It is great hearing from you, too! I see you're back from QC?! That was years ago, though... That's great you still take your pics... Yeah, I like to also still get out and take city photos, and nature photos, but I upload them on Facebook now for my friends... I'm so embarrassed looking back at myself at Skyscraperpage.com. Although I meant well, I can't believe some of my actions back then, and my personality traits. I was so immature. I don't relate to that person anymore. Its great to see how much progress they have mad over the winter. I will be interested to see the finished project, as of right now, the contrast between the brown and the white seems a bit unusual. However I am not a professional and I am always happy with the finished product.

Park will close for makeover
BY STEVE JORDON
WORLD-HERALD STAFF WRITER

Turner Park will close Monday so workers can begin integrating the city park into an "urban oasis" as part of Mutual of Omaha's Midtown Crossing development.

When it reopens in November, along with most of Midtown Crossing, the park at 30th Street and Turner Boulevard will have 574 new trees, 3,042 new shrubs and 35,455 flower bulbs.

Workers will install an irrigation system and lay new sod on the 7.5-acre park, about 1.5 acres more than its previous area. Some of the old trees have remained in place during construction.

Keith Bawolek, executive vice president of developer ECI Investment Advisors, said the park will be a "cornerstone" of the development and "one of the features that truly sets it apart."

Improved access and the slope of the park from west to east will make it a setting for community events, he said, with an oval-shaped open area about the size of a football field that will serve as a natural amphitheater.

As part of its development agreement with the City of Omaha, Mutual will take over maintenance and management of the park, Mutual spokesman Jim Nolan said.

The project will add about 3,000 parking spaces, including above-ground and underground garages and diagonal spaces along Farnam Street.

Then northern most tower crane is being taken down and reassembled on the other side of the building. I guess this will be the main crane for the hotel and parking garage work

Great shot!

Man, I REALLY hope the NDOR is planning on planting tons of trees on all the dirt/open space in this interchange. Those areas in between the ramps should be like a FOREST.

Just last Thursday I was in a friends apartment in one of those towers, her apartment faces west so I could see MTC but did not have a camera, it was evening anyway so I dont think a picture would have turned out with the sun glaring

Uh huh. Don't hold your breath. Have you seen what a beautiful job they have done reforesting the I-80-680 interchange? You know, the one that they otherwise completed about 10 years ago? They haven't planted ONE SINGLE TREE or BUSH! The wall on the west side of the interchange reminds me of the Berlin Wall! It is just as stark and foreboding. They haven't so much as planted a single ivy plant to mask its ugliness. Someone really needs to |expletive| slap them.

Then on the other hand, they planted several hundred trees along the dodge expressway.

I wonder if trees is a calming factor for upset neighbors. There were a lot of people opposed to the expressway and they planted trees. There were not a lot of people opposed to the 680-80 reconstruction and they did not plant trees.

They're putting more windows up on the curved buildings but they seem to be doing it in sporadic sections.

I'm confused. I know they want to make Farnam a two way street, but why did they do the parking as a one way street when they repaved it? When heading west, the parking on the left side of the street is angled as if it is still going to be a one way street.

For example, in this picture you can see it:

Those would be awfully hard to pull into if you were heading East, in my opinion.

i wonder if that's only temporary angled parking, because i think part of that is blocked off. When my wife and i went to romeo's a couple weeks ago, it looked like it was a very tight fit if you were driving through.

ShawJ, the parking is definitely facing that way because Farnam is still one-way. They'll be able to switch it over when Farnam goes two-way.
