Elephants on 10th Street???

Circus is in Town...

If it has not happened already, they will parade the elephants up to the Qwest Center from the Circus train behind the Durham Museum. They will do the same on Sunday when they go back to the Train.

I don't know, I just know the Train came to town early today. There is a constant string of Ringling Brothers equipment traveling tenth street.

Okay, so funny story on this topic from the circus coming to town last year that I've been prompted to share:

A buddy and I were hanging out at Stadium Club, there on 10th St, watching some sporting event (NBA finals?) and having a few beers. Out the window, we see the flashing lights of cop cars, so we decide to peek our head out onto the patio to see what's going on. We assumed it was some sort of traffic stop or that someone had gotten a little too rowdy at one of the neighboring bars. Yeah, we were just a bit off. A bit of a parade of sorts was more like it. There were 6-8 elephants, each one's trunk holding the tail of the elephant in front, all slowly walking up 10th St, behind the cop car with the flashing lights...

Needless to say, my buddy and I both questioned how long we'd been drinking, and how many we'd had, as that was quite an odd sight to see. Yeah, we walked back inside and promptly closed our tabs....

Its that Time again...

The UP will Bring the Circus Train in to town tonight at 2am. The Elephants will once again parade up 10th street some time tomorrow 6/3. There will be lots of other Circus Traffic up and down 10th street tomorrow too.

FYI, The Train will load up on Sunday and depart some time between 6pm Sunday and 1:30am Monday. Crew Change in Lincoln(5:30am), Crew change and Water the Animals in McCook Nebraska (11:30am)

You barely missed them. When I waved at you when you were on 10th street, that was as I was leaving from taking those photos.
