Beautiful photo Midtown Gal. I can not wait until the new street and park are open to get a close up look at the project.

So, I told my insider friend at Midtown Crossing about your idea for a morning shot and she thought it was a great idea! Not sure about the quality, as I am no professional photographer, but it looks pretty cool to me.
I had the chance to get a shot up there one night but it was back when it was essentially steal and concrete I didn't have the balls.

Dam you know that potentially could become a cliché shot for Omaha. It shows density and with some long exposure you can get some tail lights going down Douglas. It's quite a flattering angle of the skyline but I noticed the Wallstreet tower isn't going to stick out as much from the west. It still rocks non the less.

They have planted a bunch of trees back by the buildings, started building stairs in the park and pouring a lot of sidewalk.

Ya, after you mentioned all the landscaping that was going on, i decided to drive by and check it out. I must say, it looks good. Plus, that area is going to be dense! the panoramas and webcam shots really don't do it justice. I'm really excited for everything to get going in there, it's going to be a happenin' area!

I've caught a couple of brief glimpses of the trees and landscaping while turning from Farnam onto Turner Blvd. It looks like they've used more mature trees, which is great as long as they survive. Plus, they preserved a lot of the large trees that were already in Turner Park.
Oh I can't wait for this all to open up this fall!!!

Most importantly, I am usually down there in the afternoon and the best photos would be in the morning. Other than that, I just need to make time because there would be some walking involved.windsor wrote:How come you take a lot of job site photo, but don't take any at Midtown Crossing?Brad wrote:They have planted a bunch of trees back by the buildings, started building stairs in the park and pouring a lot of sidewalk.

I saw them installing some light fixtures today around the park area.
As much as I love this project, I have to admit that I hate the "brick" material they're using throughout a lot of the buildings. Maybe my opinion will change when it's all completed and all the windows are in, but I really wish a different material was used.

Ugh. I totally agree.
I think that once people start moving in, and we start seeing furniture, plants/flowers on the balconies, etc. it will make the overall effect much better.

I think the landscaping is looking great. It's too bad that once the public is finally able to walk around there it'll be close to winter.

Anyone have any clue how this project is selling so far? I have heard rumors that not one condo has been reserved or sold. Not sure if I believe that, but it came during a conversation with contractors.

I'm sure there are some sold or reserved. A project like this I doubt that no one has bought into it yet.

My friend, when looking for a house, was told that zero have been sold by a real estate agent.
I'm not sure if it's true or not, though.

I wouldn't rely on a real estate agent's comments. My inside source says that there have been some sold and they have prospects in the sales center daily.

That's what I figured. No way a project of this scale hasn't sold a unit.Midtown Gal wrote:My inside source says that there have been some sold and they have prospects in the sales center daily.

Their website shows several units as reserved and has for quite awhile. I have spoken to quite a few people who are very interested in purchasing a condo, but are waiting until more retail tenants are announced and construction on the main buildings wraps up to commit.

I spoke with a Mutual executive earlier this week and that person said that 2 units have been sold and termed it as a "long-term" project.
Also mentioned that they are in the midst of signing a letter of intent with two grocery stores. Not sure if that means they want to actually bring in two or just that they are in talks with two. If it is the former, I would imagine one is more a full service whereas the other is a specialty store or perhaps, more of a general store.
Also mentioned that there have been two restaurants secured and I believe she said that they were both from out of town.
The reason this has not been rolled out, according to this person, is that Mutual wants to do a "blast" of information all at once.

I had chance to drive by the project the other day. They are down to one tower crane and the sprinklers were watering the lawn. Everything is looking beautiful. It won't be long before that construction fence comes down and we can finally walk in the park again.

I think this hotel is going to work fantastic for me. It's perfect for one night stands and parties. The parties were you trash the place like a rock star.
I noticed they have gotten a lot of work done on the sidewalks recently.
