MTO, when you said the "N.E. Tower" did you mean the northwest building, i.e. the hotel?

Just drove Farnam St. between the interstate and MTC. All the new street lights are going in, and they really do a lot for the curb appeal for that stretch of Farnam.

They actually have the taller street lights (meant for street traffic), but also more pedestrian-scaled lamps that light up the sidewalks.

Yet another small piece to the final puzzle!

I believe this new plan for street/pedestrian lighting in the city. When the DID redid the state building, they used similar pedestrian lights- the corner lights haven't been replaced yet but they are supposed to be the tall tower lights. I also think jlofts has the same street light concept.

New lights definitely help the area.

Does it scare anyone else that this project is supposed to open their doors in 3 months (November) and we haven't heard any additional announcements about retail tenants besides the anchors? I mean if they've got them lined up, they've got to be thinking about store/restaurant construction finalization, liquor licenses (for the restaurants) and starting to market themselves in the area (if they're new to town).

I know at one time they had said they were holding off, wanting to do 1 grand announcement session with all of the retail/restaurants at once, in order to build excitement and get a push for rentals/condo sales, but this waiting game has me thinking otherwise...

Has anyone heard anything?

On their Facebook page, they mentioned that there's going to be an announcement on 9/16. Also, I hear they're getting really close to launching a new website for the apartments.

No.

Why should it scare you? The project is happening and is nearly fully realized. It may take time for everything to fill in, but it WILL fill in.

Plus, as MidtownGal mentioned, there should be that big announcement soon.

I saw last night that there are external lights on the center building that were turned on. I think everything is enclosed now and it's starting to look really impressive.

Farnum going 2 way tonight? It doesn't make sense to resurface it and then change the markings again in a little bit. Farnum closed from 7 tonight to 6A.M.

Farnam will be 2-way starting either 10/12 or 10/13.

Not that interesting. This city is stripe happy. Asphalt needs to be laid before the cold. The will temp stripe it now, probably temp strip it when the make the switch, and I would assume the would attach permanent reflective stripes in the spring.

Speaking of Midtown crossing and the argument about 2 way street and re striping. Its resurfaced, but only one lane is open so may be they will keep the one lane until they take it two way.

The new street lights look nice too.

A theater with escalators and elevators, now that's urban. Looking out from the inside it still looks huge. It’s not every day we get a block of hi-rises going online at the same time. I have a feeling I’ll be down there at least once a week.

I'm thinking I can drop off my favorite ruffled little black dress at the dry cleaner, stop by Tru and get a mani/pedi, grab something tasty at Loft 610 and end my night at Parliament. Sounds like a good night to me.

Not too shabby. I don't know what everyone expected. That restaurant sounds great and a dry cleaner there really makes sense. When I work at Mutual they had a dry cleaner and it was used constantly. It might even be the same company.

These sound great to me. I think some people were expecting some national retailers to open up at Midtown Crossing, which they probably will at some point, but this is more what I expected. Midtown Crossing will be a great mix of businesses that will bring a lot to the neighborhood. Yeah, you can make fun of the dry cleaner, but it is a necessity in creating an environment in which people can live, work and play.

I am disappointed to see that the grocery store wasn't announced yet though.
