This is weird, just last weekend my GF and I were talking about the old slides that Richmond Gordman had in their stores. She sends me this ebay auction this morning:

Me, too! Crazy.

Northwest corner in the lower level. I bonked my head pretty good one day on that thing.

I bet we could get that thing up in your condo! We could put a pulley up on the roof and use D'Shawn as a counter weight and pull it up :;):

That'd be more of a slingshot setup, wouldn't it? :;):

Did this, or one like it, used to be sitting on some privet property to the South of I80 but visible from the interstate somewhere near 84th street. Maybe closer to 72nd. Seeing this pictured seems to bring back memories of one sitting somewhere along there for a few years.

There is a property in the exact area you describe, but they have all of the vintage McDonald's playground equipment. (The Hamburgler, Grimace sp?, and etc)

You can see most of the stuff from the interstate, I'm guessing that's what you remember seeing?

Ya, That is what I am talking about but it has been a while but I seemed to remember that there used to be one like this there also. 10 + years ago. Probably just a foggy messed up memory though.

A new generation of memories
Omaha World-Herald wrote:“The nostalgia of those pieces is just phenomenal, and I think there's a power in that,” said Hoyer, who played at Zooland as a child in Lincoln.
“A museum's job, I think, is to preserve something, and what we as a museum do is preserve childhood. If we can help people remember what it was like to be a child in Omaha, in this area, that's what sets us apart.”
Hoyer, on the museum's behalf, bid for Narducci's elephant, camel and hippo, ultimately buying the elephant and camel for $1,700 and $415, respectively. The fiberglass pieces were hauled into the museum in the past week the elephant alone required eight men to move. Hoyer is holding out hope that the buyer of the hippo will eventually consider adding it to the collection. And the search continues for the set's fourth animal: a kangaroo

"No comment from Gordman's?" What dumbasses. Yeah, lets turn down free publicity and not capitalize on something like this. Idiots!

I take back what I said about Gordman's. They have come forward to pay the estimated $7,000 cost to restore the animals (including the Hippo which was delivered yesterday). Now, they just need to find the Kangaroo.
