Well if you go to ticket master, "Best Available" for the NU v CU game is GA9, so i am guessing CU only has the lower bowl plan. I think its time for MECA to switch from their Construction Site to a more Permanent site (Maps, Seating Charts, general info).

I thought those were going on sale this coming Sunday (4/10)? Did they go on sale yesterday?

They went on sale today at 10am. Apparently they had a line at 10am too.

Well not exactly... On 1620am they said that MECA took 8000 seats for everyone that worked on the stadium, then TD Ameritrade took another several thousand for their employees. I hope all the Free tickets show up. There is a lot of interest in that game and if there are big empty pockets of seats it will be really sad!

No kidding. Especially because of the demand from non-MECA/TD fans.

TD Ameritrade is using a lottery to give their ticket allotment to employees. I'm hoping we win a pair.

So looking at the seating chart, I noticed there's a little hitch or something in the symmetry at the fence in right-center.

Not being a baseball fan of any kind, why is it so difficult to build a baseball stadium with a symmetrical field?

I'll give the benefit of the doubt to 100 yr old stadium and places that are shoe-horned into existing neighborhoods. But when you pretty much have carte blanche, what gives?

IIRC, it was modeled to have the same dimensions as the Blatt. So, that would fit into your shoe-horn theory.

The Blatt is LF: 332 CF: 408 RF: 332
TD Ameritrade is LF: 335 LCF: 375 C: 408 RCL: 375 RF: 335

Some stadiums are not symmetric due to giving and advantage to left handed hitters...

i had read an article saying they may in fact open up the bowl for the game

http://www.gocreighton.com/ViewArticle. ... =205129923
Tickets for the game went fast. Nearly one-third of the seats will be assigned to the construction force and city leaders who were responsible for the stadium being built. In addition to those tickets purchased by the general public on Tuesday morning, other tickets were bought by TD Ameritrade, which owns naming rights, as well as through a pre-sale available to Creighton season ticket holders and Metropolitan Entertainment & Convention Authority club seat holders, as well as Creighton faculty, staff and alumni.

A possibility remains that more seats will go on sale at 10 am on the day of the game. Those seats would be in the upper grandstand.

The April 19th game will be televised statewide by NET-HD, as well as nationwide on the CBS Sports Network

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't the upper level seats the "club seats" http://www.tdameritradeparkomaha.com/TD ... _Bro_B.pdf If that's the case, I would assume they would always be open.

I am guessing, and this is just a guess that may be the additional upper grandstand seats are the bleachers on the left field side that are not complete. No need to pull a Jerry Jones and sell seats that are not finished yet.

Maybe you got a better look than I did the other day. Could you tell if they have backs on the benches or how exactly they are set up? I only caught a quick glance driving by and thought they were actually individual seats. I'm also guessing the Road to Omaha statue will probably go in some time later this week or early next. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to do it Black Ops style in middle of the night to avoid an audience.

Creighton will host an open house from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at TD Ameritrade Park. The Bluejays will be practice at the park from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m.

I think that is a fantastic idea! Spread the wealth there is the drop off area right in front of Qwest that seems perfect. I can't wait to see all the pedestrian activity DT during this next CWS.

I can't wait to see that area around the CWS. Every year it turned the sleepy neighborhoods around Rosenblatt into a great spectacle when driving down 13th St.,
now the area around the Qwest Center will be busy with pedestrians for 10 straight days. I know that traffic may suck if you are coming in from the airport,
but what a great site to see with all the action considering that would be what you would see first when coming in from Eppley. Omaha is definitely headed in the right direction.

Yeah, there REALLY needs to be a new ped/bike bridge connecting Fahey Street over the tracks to the riverfront and the Kerrey Bridge landing.

I am really confused by those concrete semi-circular slabs behind the statue. I just don't get what's going to be done with them. I hope, at least, they will be covered in brick as Brad mentioned on the last page, but I don't see how plantings would be incorporated--as great as that would look! As it is now, there's an awkward space between the front slab and the back slab that seems just large enough for children to walk back there and probably hurt themselves trying to climb on that thing.

Best image I could find. If you look hard you can see what looks like brick and grasses behind the statue. Considering they turn over the stadium today I don't know what the plan is now.

I know. That's why I'm confused and worried. If left as-is, it's really a scar on the face of the stadium and a real gaff in terms of first impressions.

There is also a big "TD AMeritrade Park Omaha 1" that is in the real stadium, not the rendering...

I am sure that even after the stadium is turned over today, you will still see work go on. Heck they didn't add the art to the Qwest Center for over two years after it was completed. Personally I would like to see something that contrasts with the Sculpture because I think it would just blend in to that brick. I like the concrete better than the brick for that reason.

I agree, Brad. I could see the concrete being painted a dark, gunmetal gray. Combined with the potential plantings, that would compliment the TD Ameritrade brand nicely.

I was thinking something like the Vietnam Wall with the list of champions and MVPs would be sweet there.
