Here is a cell phone pic of mine from today. Shows the front along with the hyvee sign showing what the store will look like.

Its amazing how fast this building went up. The exterior looks basically done. I am sure they have quite a ways to go inside.

Hy-Vee: Stocking energy efficiency

Leia Mendoza WORLD-HERALD STAFF WRITER wrote:The new Hy-Vee Supermarket at 180th and Pacific Streets opened Tuesday morning, and it will be the first of its kind for the chainin the Omaha-Council Bluffs area — for now.

The 87,000-square-foot store, which opened at 6 a.m.and will be open 24 hours a day, is the first Hy-Vee in the area to be built to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards that stress energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality and water savings.
Leia Mendoza WORLD-HERALD STAFF WRITER wrote:Back at the store on 180th and Pacific, Jurgens said it was a store location that was on the company's radar for a long time.

"We bought this land 10 years ago," he said. "We knew this would be a perfect location, but we waited until there was enough population."

Well, better late than never, I guess.

Best part:
bike racks to encourage employees to bike rather than drive to work

I guess "LEED certification" ignores a 500-stall parking lot and 100 acre land footprint?

Have you been in it? It is MASSIVE. I don't think I have ever seen a Hy-Vee that big it feels like a Wal-Mart inside.

I haven't been in the one of Q ever so that would probably explain that.

I also think that it not having a dropped ceiling had a lot to do with it.

Might be getting a Market Grill? They already have all the “new stuff” like the clothing store and the bath products.

In the Outlot just south of the Gas Station dirt is moving for a new "Omaha Primary EyeCare"
In the Outlot on the east side of the parking lot dirt is moving, but I don't see any premits, just a "Minor Amendment to the Mixed Use Agreement"
