Apparently, voting for Best of Omaha 2012 begins in just three days. Wow, that was quick.
Anyway, I was wondering...am I the only person who is absolutely flabbergasted that La Mesa has won Best Mexican Restaurant eight years in a row?! Omaha has so many amazing Mexican restaurants! Why Le Mesa???? I've eaten at La Mesa and...eh.
I hope this is the year that the streak ends...

Best of Omaha 2012
I wouldn't necessarily qualify "Best of Omaha" an actual exhaustive city-wide poll of the actual *best*. I consider it more a "we market our voting better than the other guys in this particular category" commendation.

Best of Omaha 2012
With maybe one or two exceptions I've taken the "Best of Omaha" logo to be a big fat "stay away" warning.

This is still a puzzler, although I agree that mostly it says we get more voters instead of we are actually better.
