California Zephyr derails

Its been a bad summer for the Zephyr in Nebraska.

1. It struck a run away center pivot in Nebraska a few weeks ago.
2. It was completely stopped for a few days while the BNSF secured its line from flood waters.
3. It hasn't been to Omaha since Memorial Day.
4. Today it hit a car and derailed.

Wow, definitely some explaining to do on the part of the crane outfit! The crane looks like an oldie.

Maybe they should have hired union labor to operate the crane. So much for safety first.

Kind of like the union-operated crane that came crashing down from 25 stories up in NYC in March of 2010.
