Mt Vernon Gardens is located east of 13th St (13th and Y) about a mile or two south of Rosenblatt Stadium.

It is a pretty little spot. A friend of mine's sister got married in that gazebo.

Great photos!

Also for the outsiders (Ryan :)), Behind the "gazeebo", where the trees are, is a really big, sharp drop off that goes all the way down to the river. There's some really amazing views of the valley.

Ooooh! I just went to your link, Coyote. That garden is more beautiful than I remember! Maybe I just haven't been there when it's in full bloom like that.

Everyone should go the the link for more pictures. They're fantastic.

Here's a taste of the view I was taking about.

Thanks guys. Many of these pics come from after 5pm.
I tried to get a better vista shot from the hills and climb down to the river
but after passing up two guys making a 'business arrangement' half way down
I ran into the tracks and some fenced off plants.
When I was taking some before photo's in March, someone said that there are paths at Mandan Park just to the South.
I've been trying to get a shot of the skyline from somewhere close to there but no luck yet.

Yeah, it's hard to get a clean shot of the skyline from either of those parks because of the way the river bends and the bluffs block the view.

That place is looking much nicer than it was last fall. I took my XC team over there to run several times when it was really hot as there was shade and a drinking fountain. the garden area in the middle was totally overgrown with weeds and such.

Who takes care of it? The city?

Ultimately it is a City of Omaha Park, but I would guess that there was a local garden club or Master Gardener who is in charge of the gardens. I don't know for sure though.
