Does anybody remember when "Jeopardy!" and "Wheel of Fortune" used to be on KMTV back in the late 80's/early 90's?

Who remembers watching when KMTV was NBC and WOWT was CBS. I believe they switched in the mid 80's also if I remember correctly this was not the first switch but brought them back to where they were originally.
For the record  NEBUGEATER does not equal BUGEATER    !!!!!!!

June 29th, 1986, was when they switched back. Unfortunately, I'm too young to remember it. I was a month away from turning 2.

According to Wikipedia:
In 1986, KMTV and WOWT entered into an agreement which allowed them to return to their original affiliations. As a result, KMTV rejoined CBS after 30 years with NBC on June 29, 1986.

Also according to Wikipedia:
Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune both were long stay syndication programs on KMTV where they were carried at 4:30 and 6:30 weekdays respectively until Jeopardy! went to WOWT in September 1994 and Wheel of Fortune went to KETV at the same time. Initially, Jeopardy! ran on KETV from 1984 to 1986 then moved to KMTV. KMTV began airing Wheel of Fortune in January 1984 and then carried both from 1986 to 1994.

Anyone remember wrestling in the basement of KETV?

Donna Meyer doing the weather on KMTV?

Mike May doing the weather in drag on KETV to make fun of her?

Carol Scott doing weather on KMTV after Donna Meyer went to KETV? Remember her "three dimensional" weather reports?

I remember John Mason, Loretta Carroll, Deborah Ward and Trina Creighton at KMTV. I remember Tom Bevacqua doing the weather there and Rich Roberts doing the sports.

I can remember Pat Persaud at WOWT. I sort of remember Byron Wood at WOWT before he moved to KPTM. When I was a toddler, I used to giggle upon hearing his name. I thought it was a funny sounding name.

I remember Carol Schraeder and Michael Scott at KETV. I also remember John Knicely and Jim Flowers being at KETV as well before they both moved to WOWT. Jim did the weather like he does at WOWT now. And John did the sports just like he did at WOWT at first, then switched to the news.

YES. God, you must be as old as I am. Mike May doing the weather in drag was one of the funniest things I've ever seen on TV, especially since I thought he was one of the least likely people to do anything like that.

I am 53.

I think my brother and I never missed a weather forecast when Carol Scott was on.

Mike May in drag was only slightly more flamboyant than the "see me from space" sport coats he normally wore.

Donna Meyer's funny accent used to drive everyone nuts.

Even CT Tongklin.

That channel was decent and at times even a leader. Amazinktg what a lot of bad management decisions can do.

It sure was. Especially when "Jeopardy!" and "Wheel of Fortune" were on there. You know, if those shows were to return to KMTV, it might restore the station to its former glory.

And I think Tom left by choice. I highly doubt he was forced out. Ken Siemek has been with 10-11 here in Lincoln since 1981. Jim Flowers has been doing the weather for 30 years, too. That's why I invoked Tom Bevacqua. He was a pretty good meteorologist. He was the first guy I ever watched doing the weather. I thought it was pretty cool seeing him standing in front of that green screen displaying the United States' weather patterns.

In fact, KMTV was one of the first stations, if not THE very first to use Doppler Radar. So there's something Tom can be proud of.

It was long before my time, but what about Tom Brokaw being at KMTV a decade and 1/2 before he went onto NBC Nightly News?
