We now know where Burger Star is ending up after the lication on 72nd street is nearly renovated and there was word that they were relocating but never really said where. Burger Star as well as a new Cutchall Management concept to be called Big Cheese will be locating at Nebraska Crossing it was anounced today.
Burger Star, which is relocating to the Gretna outlet center from its original 72nd and Pacific location, will offer a chef's blend of ground beef burgers, fresh-cut fries, milkshakes and up to 18 beers on tap, said Greg Cutchall, president and chief executive of Omaha-based Cutchall Management
Big Cheese, a grilled gourmet cheese sandwich concept offering 10 cheese sandwiches, soups, salads, bakery goods, locally made ice cream and a selection of 12 wines.
The road to Gretna, however, wasn't direct for Cutchall Management.
“When Frank Krejci and Rod Yates first came to see me about a year ago to discuss opening a restaurant at Nebraska Crossing, I politely told them to come back and see me when they have the Crossroads development ready,” Cutchall said.
“I think it was around August when I learned in an Omaha World-Herald article of the new design and the major amount of first-class retailers they had secured that I changed my mind,” he said. “They are taking the regional retail landscape to a new level ... and I am pleased to be a small part of it.”

Looking at Craigslist and it seems that Samsonite is going to have a store at the mall that is not on the list of announced stores yet. They are looking for positions in Gretna.

Oh boy.. hope they can swing it.. Its always a little nerve wrecking when you see a place open a second location before their first is established for the long term.. Still need to head down to the place on 90th but will do so soon.

The one in Aurora is owned by the Simon Group who operates 78 other outlet malls worldwide, most of which are practically identical. Their concept was probably the inspiration for Nebraska Crossing.

Anyone hear anthing about an Apple store at the outlet? The Facebook page for Nebr Crossing just posted an update to,watch for exciting promotional announcements from Borsheims, Apple, and many more brands for the grand opening. Would really surprise me if there was an Apple store I am guessing some kind of cross promotion but who knows...... Anyone

I have never heard of an Apple outlet. Would be cool if they did.
They just responded to the same basic question on their FB post. It is an Apple promotion and not a store as suspected.

Only every other of the large signs along the Interstate have the Video boards on them. They are light up and running tests. The bottom of the video boards will have store names and it looks like the ones without the video will be all store names.

It will be crazy I am guessing too. Parking will be an issue. There is no overflow parking anywhere near by that people can walk from. The State Patrol and County Sherrifs office have already said there will be no parking allowed along the HW where pleople may just try and park.

Why not? They make us park on Hwy 6 after Nebraska football games.
Nebraska Crossing has announced that they have elected to become a gun free zone. Their Facebook page has lit up in the last few hours with a lot of posts of disappointment and plans to not spend their $$$ there while respecting their decision to have this rule.
If I remember correctly the NFM just reversed that policy recently.
Guess I do not have a real problem one way or another. If it is private property, and it is the owner can set the policy. Same policy as where I work. If I had to say I was one one side of the lien vs the other I would say if you have a CC permit and have been through what it takes to get that then you are probably not the problem. Those that want to do harm are not going to follow a posted policy anyway.

People who whine that their Constitutional rights are being infringed upon need to realize that the Constitution is the framework for government, not private enterprise.

Not a gun carrier and really don't care either way but some of those comments are pretty funny. They make it sound like people are completely taking away their guns.

Good. Lord. What kind of war zone society do these outstate hicks think we live in?

Part of me thinks that they announced the gun policy, or has the media plant the story to generate publicity. Nobody probably would have said anything if the signs just went up.

Sorry but that is exactly the type of aditude that rally gets me going. If I read your post correctly then you are tiying all the comments to rural out state people. I grew up in rural Nebraska and some "city folk" wonder whey they are looked at with a suspiciousness eye. Having lived on both sides of the fence most do not realize how much the same they are.
By the way, I went and looked a a large sampling of the comments that are being generalized as from out state hicks and many if not most are from people who's profiles would indicate they are from Omaha!

Concealed carry permit holders get them for a reason. Sometimes the reason is situational. If I was still involved in pistol target shooting, I would have a CC permit to make it easier to carry a target pistol back and forth to and from the range in my car. Other times, its for protection against real threats. Violent ex-spouses come to mind as a common example. I guess if I was in the second group, and needed to protect myself against an armed threat, I would not go there unless I could bring my gun.
The problem with these rules is that when a criminal violates the stated policy, nothing much happens. So the policy basically stigmatizes people who may already feel a little targeted, but does nothing to lower crime.
Want this to get better?
We pass a law that says you get caught with a concealed weapon, without a valid CC permit, in an area designated as a "no-gun zone", you have a year in prison before any court gets set. You had the gun, you are guilty. You go to jail then after a year, we can ejudicate all the other charges.
This strategy was the teeth behind the very succcessful 1934 Firearms act. Tax law is draconian and enforced to the day. Violate the machine gun tax, go to Leavenworth for 10. Period. After that, we got to figure out the rest of your sentence.
This way the people who get CC permits to protect them against armed threats can still have their protection, and the mall can still have control of the situation.

I probably shouldn't have generalized, but I did the same sampling and found the opposite to be true.
Wherever they live, I stand by my point.

Some shoppers who couldn't find spaces parked along Highway 30, in a cornfield and on both sides of the access road – seeming to outstrip the efforts of the Frontline private security firm, mall staff and officers from the Nebraska State Patrol and Sarpy County Sheriff's Office to direct traffic.
“We're currently trying to stop cars from coming in so cars can get out,” mall property manager Kelly Calderone said while also trying to direct traffic. “The lot is at capacity. This is more than what we were expecting. We've got to get people out.”
They had security there because they knew it was going to be overflow. So what was their contingency plan when that was going to happen? Tell them to go home.

I came past at 3:45 today from I 80 into Gretna. There was traffic but it must have been a between time. It didn't look too bad so I entered through the old entrance and looped the parking lot and went out the new. There were a fair number of open parking spots at that time of the day. Wouldn't count on it Tomorrow or Sunday though

The problem with that is is that it is a blatant violation of the Constitution. Everyone deserves a court-date, and instant imprisonment like that would not stand in the courts.
