Ya, nothing to fancy but something to play with. Got a Rokinon 8mm f/3.5 on Ebay brand new in retail box from Buydig for $199 total shipped. They are selling for that price and usually a bit more used so I figured what the heck. It was one of those short BIN sales and it something I have wanted to mess with for some time so I pulled the trigger. The lens has decent reviews and this is the newer version with the removable hood so, even though it is not designed for FF, it can be used with the hood removed and just a bit of cropping. The previous ver. had a attached hood and the optics reviews were not as good. This was the first use for it. I think it will be fun to mess with for a while at least
Nebraska Crossing Outlets estimates that a total of more than 100,000 people visited the shopping center on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Four brands, which were not specified, each sold about $300,000 worth of merchandise in the first three days of the mall’s opening.
Several retailers broke records for best opening day outlet sales.
I remember some thread around here talking about traffic lights with flashing yellow arrows, but can't seem to find it. Anyway, when I went out to check out NEX, I noticed they put one in for the left turn onto eastbound I-80.
Per Grow Omaha they are seriously looking into an 1000 car parking deck and another 100K SF of retail space. Said things could be done by the holiday season next year if everything works out.

It just amazes me how rapidly this one happened! It seems like only yesterday that it was the all but dead old mall. With all of the projects taking years upon years to decide upon and do, these people did not futz around at all, they just got in there and did it!

Ok, speaking of which, does anyone have (the time to find) Nebraska Crossings timeline, from when it was announced, to ground breaking to Grand Opening?

First physical demo of old facilty was within a couple of days of March 15 2013.
Last day anything was open at the old structure was Dec 31. 2012
Starting with The last day my photos on Flickr were logging the progress to some extent with basicly a monthy update from March to Nov.
For the record NEBUGEATER does not equal BUGEATER !!!!!!!
This story contains the most definitive statement I have seen about a future expansion.
Expansion is already in the plans, Yates said. He is hoping for 15 to 20 new tenants in a 100,000-square-foot expansion to the north. Yates is projecting that will be finished in 2015.
Found this interesting on the success vs. the expectation of the first 60 days.
After a robust initial holiday shopping season and the usual retail lull of January, Yates continues to be optimistic about the mall’s future. He summed the first 60 days up in one word, “Amazing.”
Mitten said they hope to see about 5 million shoppers in 2014.

Under Armour is doubling in size from 7,000 to 18,000 Square Feet
Because of that, Abercrombie & Fitch is going to actually build in a different bay (open in summer)
Old Navy will be opening during the first weekend
Still trying to land a "Mellow Mushroom" to build on a pad site. http://mellowmushroom.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Big Events will take place on Memorial Day, Including prizes dropped from a Helicopter!

Steve Madden, Watch Station, Fossil, Francesca, The Limited
With the addition of the five new outlet stores, the number of retailers and restaurants at the Gretna outlet mall climbs to about 75.
Yates said once the five stores open, the mall will be 97 percent occupied. "I have two spaces left – one 3,000-square-feet, the other 7,500 square feet."
Wow.. I'm thinking this place is going to eventually be something akin to Jordans Creek in DSM when its done. I was already impressed with the size.. and with phase 2 going to expand it hugely its going to be a great place for even just casual passerbys to want to stop in real quick for a break from driving.
I have noticed with these two Fossil and Francesca that there have been several companies with stores in VP. I wonder if they will close the ones in VP.

Jordan Creek will be the last enclosed mall built in this region for a long long time. The retail industry has moved beyond indoor malls.

I think he's referring more to the entire Jordan Creek area, which is far...far more than just an indoor mall.
I was out at the Nebraska Outlet Mall a couple of Sundays ago and it was almost a ghost town. Anyone that thinks this mall is not going to flop is crazy! When the glitter wears off this baby in 5 years its going to look like the Bluffs Mall.
Yes it is. Will be interesting to see if the comparision is accurate. Jordan Creek has such a vast amount of land (still think though if they were starting from scratch now, the mall portion would not be an enclosed mall). Nebraska Crossing is in such a small parcel. I know they've talked about expansion, they will need to get some additional parcels to do that.

Were you there when they were open?
I have not driven by when the amount of cars and foot traffic still surprises me.

Which makes is even less likely they this area will ever, ever resemble it.
We have gone numerous times and I don't ever feel like it is anywhere near a ghost town. I don't feel it is an accurate picture comparing to Jordan Creek. One is a mall and another is an outlet center I feel this will remain successful

I highly doubt he has even been out there.
Every time I go by there to Highway 6, it's been pretty dang busy.

I think the comparison COULD fit, if they diversify the area with the outlet mall being a "core". There's empty land around it, so it wouldn't surprise me that if they ever developed the area, it could have a feel of the Jordan Creek area.
