Did everything in their power to give that game away at the end. Nice to win a tough one, need to play better these last 3 games.

I got to the CenturyLink at 2:30 (1 1/2 hrs before tip off) and they were already out of McDermott bobbleheads. Disappointed, but at least the Jays came away with another win and we got to witness McDermott move into 10th place in front of the 3rd largest crowd all-time (18,742)

Doesn't matter how the wins come in late February, as long as they are there.

Just win baby 8)

Wow that is crazy, I did find one on there for $350, but that is still too much.
The line on the south entrance was lined up all the way to 10th and Capitol.

Would be perfection to hit 3000 in Omaha.

Nice, thanks for the math....I was thinking all of the same things. It would be sweet to have him get 3,000 at home. Either way, he should pass Oscar Robertson at home.

Thats unbelievable, considering they haven't beaten a top 25 team this year and their only 2 matchups vs top 25 teams, they have lost. Granted, they do have a 19 game winning streak.

It's pretty funny to see Villanova ranked ahead of Creighton, after losing 2 games to Creighton by more than 50 points. The math isn't working on that one...

I heard on the radio this afternoon that Dick Vital and come other guy both had Creighton ranked around 17th or 18th in their poll, but both had Villanova in the top 10.

Vital is the Lee Corso of college basketball, so I'm not surprised to see that from him.

How about this math:

Villanova beat RPI 1, 37, 47 and lost to RPI 9, 7, 7
Creighton beat RPI 4, 4, 32 but lost to RPI 19, 29, 47, 56

Head to head only really counts in conference standings.

I understand Nova has more quality wins, and less embarrassing losses, but I cannot get over the head-to-head blowouts, and wouldn't think a voter could, either. Vital should be committed for ranking Creighton 18th, though.

Wow, that is impressive. First time ever for standing room only....all that because the Jays are coming to town. I remember in the Missouri Valley games, Creighton was always everyone's biggest home game. Places like UNI (normally around 4,000 at a game) had over 7,000.....Drake (normally 2-3,000) had over 5,000 and so on.

I can't wait to see what the crowd on March 8th is going to be against Providence in the last home game of the year. Creighton has won 17 straight home games and Providence is the only team to beat the Jays by double-digits this year. Throw in McDermott, Wragge, Gibbs and the rest of the seniors playing their last home and a "white out", I think that the atmosphere is going to be electric. Maybe this will be the game where we break the 19,000 mark for attendance.

I will double check, but from what I understand, Creighton is giving out free t-shirts to the first 5,000 fans. They haven't done as good of a job promoting it this year, but most people are following the Jays more closely so maybe they didn't need to.
