Nikko Jenkins has been found guilty and set to be put on death row. There was also mention of suing the county justice department or equivalent for mishandling the case or something of that natures.

Doesn't that need to be determined by a 3 judge panel or a jury?

Yes, yes that's right. More accurately, he asked to be put on death row.
Wednesday didn't go entirely as Jenkins had planned. He wanted to be sentenced to death row immediately.

If he goes to death row, he will get appeals till heck freezes over. Better to give him 4 consecutive 25 to life sentences. He will rot in gen pop and we will never have to hear his name again.

I would think they would put him in isolation... He's too batshit nuts for general pop.

As soon as we get a reliable source of sodium thiopental, send the |expletive| straight to heck. Way too dangerous to be anywhere near other people, and not worth any amount of money spent keeping him alive (while fully aware that executions cost money too).

After all the appeals, executions cost much more than life in prison.

I'm not normally a big Capital Punishment fan, but I sure hope they fry this egg. They need to rid the earth of him - and his entire family, for that matter. These people are truly evil.

Dammit Ernie.

Shouldn't he be busy suing Xenu or restricting the hunting of free range chicken or something?

I don't really support the death penalty either. Nothing political or religious. Its just a huge waste of emotions and money.

Emotionally you are putting both sides through a 20-30 year emotional roller coaster and in the end, nothing really changes. They say the victims families get some closure, but I am guessing after 30 years, you would have some closure knowing the killer is locked away never to see the light of day too.

Financially its huge cost to have the death penalty. The legal fees on a case like that are huge. Here is an interesting Forbes article on the cost. http://www.forbes.com/sites/kellyphilli ... h-penalty/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I think Chambers is pointing out the blatantly obvious. You better believe the city prosecutor and the city screwed the pooch on this one. How they could take a hot potato case like this and handle it so bad is inexcusable. First they fire a shrink who they had hired because he says Nikko is insane. Then they allow an obviously insane person to be his own attorney in a murder trial. Its a travesty and even the idiot Nikko knows he will have a hay day for years in the courts because of the unexplainable bad handling of this case.

No, Nikko is a black. The fact that he is a life-long criminal is beside the point. He's a victim, and Ernie has all kinds of time for this guy!
