back when I parked there, you could pay cash and park in there. May be not anymore?
It's 10 bucks. You pay cash at this one. Have done it several times last couple years.

I was wondering the same thing. I saw that the lot is full of cars today for the game.

Perhaps a parking garage over train tracks, that would free up those lots for whatever.

Another article along with a video from KETV:
Construction underway on new downtown development

And I have to put in my obligatory cartoon response:

From the KETV video they're still using the original renderings at the site/groundbreaking. A sign that the design hasn't changed after all?

Interesting that they went up to 125k in office from the proposed 100. That isn't insignificant basically the size of Pac Life in Aksarben.

The hotel is scheduled to open in the spring of 2016. Construction on other parts of the Capitol District will begin at that time.

Found another pdf with more info:

Some repeats, but the 2nd to last page details the layout a lot.

Very awesome. Notice the surface parking lot to the south has a label that says Future Corporate Headquarters, see page 16? Unfortunately there is no page 16 to the program. Any ideas as to what that is supposed to be?

Noticed that too. Clearly something is floating around that we don't know about.

So what happened to having all parts of it under construction at the same time at some point? That article said construction was going to start on all other parts after the hotel is finished. Also, I noticed they scrapped the underground parking in favor of a 6 story parking garage near 480.

If you look at the second to last page it has an entrance to underground parking, so I think that's still a go. The parking garage you're talking about is new though, I think. I thought that space was originally going to be residential.

Maybe, at some time near the end of the Hotel construction, most of this project will be underway... But it sounds like some of these proposals are still in flex, now that this project is a definite, I wonder if more corporations will start taking notice and wanting in, so office space, rooms, parking needs, could still be on the boards right now... I kind of hope so...

Per the original renderings, yes. Per that one "offices" picture a page or two back, no.

It's...probably just the architects drawing and planing of what could be. I wouldn't read much into it.

Agreed. At first I thought the same. Simply the developers trying to help their case for additional investment or future sales by planting the seed that eventually (likely decades from now) this would be a great lot for a future office development. Happens all the time.

The only thing that leaves me curious is why they would refer specifically to it with its own space in the brochure..."see page 16"...unless maybe, just maybe, there is some info out there that the big wigs know about but don't want the media or public in on just yet, hence omitting what seems to be an existent page with more details on the subject for the time being. Conspiracy theory? Who knows. Everyone is probably reading far too much into it. Time will tell. Definitely a tease though.

I noticed during the College Home Run Derby, they had most of the lot closed off, so it doesn't appear they are making that much money.

Either way, lets hope we see some dirt moving soon.

On the DOGIS website, it still lists the City of Omaha as the Owner of the lots in the development area. What's up with that? For comparison, the Old UP site already has Lanoha listed as the owner. Maybe that project will actually happen sooner.
He said "They are some big, ugly red brick buildings"
...and then they were gone.
