Scroll about half way down, there is a photo from Dodge Street looking south, the new building looks a little bit taller.

In May, another tower crane will erect in the northeast quadrant of the project site to share the workload in areas that cannot be reached by the first crane.

Interesting facts:

The tower crane traveled to the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center project site from a previous project in Newfoundland.
When medical helicopters approach campus the crane boom moves away from the helipad and waits to resume work until the helicopter passes and an all clear signal is received.
The tower crane is 100 feet taller than DRC and DRC II buildings.

I wonder why it was taking so long to get the second one put up. One of the architects told me it was going to be up almost a month ago.

Yeah, you can see the base back in that pano I took in the beginning of March.

I did just find out that they found a few buried surprises when they were installing utilities that delayed construction of the second crane. However they said it should be going up soon.

Planning to add on to the parking garage on 42 and harney now, if that wasnt already a plan. doubling up to the lot to the east.

Saw an email on Friday showing the probable location of TNMC hotel. It will be directly east of the South Doctors building. It's East side will be where the Premire bank is. It will remove the access road that currently connects Farnam and Harney street. Will be tall enough that a tower crane will be needed. The secondary location is directly East of the North Doctors building. Should be done by the opening of the cancer center.

So the SW corner of 42nd and Farnam? Kind of by the helipad?

Yes, SW of 42 and Farman. The area it occupied on the email picture had its east side just short of 42 street and it extended west about 2/3 the distance of the helipad. The helipad will be moved temporarily south of where it is onto the Clarkson parking lot. After the cancer center is done, this pad will be abandoned as there will be new ones on its roof.

Thats a much better location than over by King Kongs.. no problem at all getting from all the Clarkson buildings to the Hotel.

Thanks! Really excited to maybe see another 10+ story building go up. Plus if it is supposed to be done by the time the Cancer Center is we will have 3 tower cranes on campus all at once. Maybe even 4 if the hotel by Dodge uses one as well.

I do not think this is same hotel that is going next to King Kong. I didn't get to read the email as I only saw a full page of the location site. The person who showed me the email picture made it sound like this was being built by TNMC. I thought the one next to King Kong was a private developer.

The UNMC rep indicated the hotel was being built by UNMC for UNMC patients and their families and stated that it was going to be a Marriott. He gasped and covered his mouth after saying Marriott.

A Massachusetts doctor who contracted Ebola in Liberia is being transferred to a medical center in Nebraska for treatment of the deadly virus.

Dr. Rick Sacra, 51, of Holden, was working with the missionary group SIM treating pregnant women in the West African country when he fell ill.

Sacra, who works at the Family Health Center of Worcester when he is not in Liberia, will be treated at the Nebraska Biocontainment Patient Care Unit in the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, according to CNN.
