It's the players fraternity. Remember the former player turned announcer a few years ago, who upon seeing a fight between UM and another Florida team, said you don't come into our house with that attitude and talked about going down to the field to join the fight... Former players go back to "the U" to help players understand what it means to play there.

It will probably be 30,000 Nebraska fans and 15 to 30 (not thousand...just 15 to 30) Hurricane fans.

The FIU–Miami football brawl was a bench-clearing brawl that occurred on October 14, 2006 in a college football game between the University of Miami Hurricanes and the Florida International University Golden Panthers at the Miami Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida.

[BBvideo 560,340][/BBvideo]
Former Miami wide receiver Lamar Thomas, who was broadcasting the game for Comcast Sports Southeast (CSS), made several controversial comments during the scuffle, including:

“Now, that’s what I’m talking about. You come into our house, you should get your behind kicked. You don’t come into the OB [Orange Bowl] playing that stuff. You’re across the ocean over there. You’re across the city. You can’t come over to our place talking noise like that. You’ll get your butt beat. I was about to go down the elevator to get in that thing...I say, why don't we meet outside in the tunnel after the ball game and get it on some more? You don't come into the OB, baby. We've had a down couple of years but you don't come in here talking smack. Not in our house."

I think we need a post-season playoff in December. The 11 conference champions would all be in it with 5 wild card spots. 3 rounds of games all held on campuses-The higher ranked team would be where the games are played. The finalists of round 3 advance to the national championship game which the major bowls would rotate hosting in January.

One year, it's held at the Rose Bowl. The next year, the Fiesta Bowl. The year after that, the Cotton Bowl. The year after that, the Sugar Bowl and the next year, the Orange Bowl.

11 conference Champions? You jest, or are you so... ?
You think the Sun Belt champion... Arkansas St.? Conference USA champion Marshall? MAC champion Bowling Green (well, maybe) could hold their own to a bottom of the league SEC team? Pac12 team?
5 wild card spots from the runner ups of the SEC, Pac 12 themselves would mutilate those sorry conferences.

Well, how do you know unless it actually happens? It might not necessarily turn out that way.

Okay, I'll admit, it's a possible scenario. The most likely one. I won't rule it out entirely. But it's not a GUARANTEED scenario. I'll put it that way.

Those conferences you mentioned might not necessarily play those SEC teams. If they did, they wouldn't necessarily be guaranteed defeat. Besides they could end up playing a Big 10 team like Wisconsin, Michigan State or even Nebraska. They could end up beating one of them.

Did Tommie Frazier do the tunnel walk with the '94 team before the game on Saturday?

Could not tell. You mainly could only see the coaches in front. I know he was there because he was on the field and honored with Matt Turman and the Berringer family.

We're entering conference play. Oh, boy. It's homecoming against Illinois. From what I've read, they've got a pretty talented offense.

Ill Off is OK but not great and very one dimensional. They hav struggled to run the ball and the QB is a big part of that.

Here is where they rank among FBS teams

Yards: 1719 (40)
Passing Yards: 1286 (13)
Rushing Yards: 433 (96)
Points per game: 32.8 (60)
Yards per game: 429.8 (64)
Touchdowns: 16 (41)
Field Goals: 2 (90)

And here is the Husker Ranking from the same source

Yards: 2239 (10)
Passing Yards: 923 (48)
Rushing Yards: 1316 (5)
Points per game: 45.5 (9)
Yards per game: 559.8 (8)
Touchdowns: 21 (11)
Field Goals: 7 (11)

The Ill Def is a weak link and if the Husker Off can play to potential they should have it there way.

Ill Def ranked against FBS teams
Yards: 1719 (92)
Passing Yards: 1029 (93)
Rushing Yards: 690 (87)
Points per game: 32.5 (95)
Yards per game: 429.8 (84)
Touchdowns: 12 (75)
Field Goals: 8 (112)

And by comparison the Husker Def

Yards: 1319 (51)
Passing Yards: 855 (56)
Rushing Yards: 464 (45)
Points per game: 20.3 (32)
Yards per game: 329.8 (30)
Touchdowns: 9 (45)
Field Goals: 3 (37)

Illinois is a team hoping for Bowl eligibility with a six win season this year. It will be interesting to see which B1G teams they can hang with.

Home Game
Night Game
Homecoming
Huskers had their "scare" game with game #2
I don't often feel this way the last few years but I do not see anything but the Huskers rolling over Ill tonight. They will not look past this game and on to Mich St next weekend.

Barring a major come-from-behind win for Illinois, out of the 14 Big 10 teams, Nebraska is the only undefeated team left.

Next week, Michigan State. Man, are they going to be a challenge. Last year, they had a pretty good defense. This year, their offense is pretty good. Hopefully, we won't be as turnover-prone as we were last year. I just did not see that coming. We had 5 turnovers that killed us. Hopefully, we won't have a repeat of that next week.

Bo's accusing Michigan State of clapping to throw off our offense during the game. Of course, Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio denies any wrongdoing. Is Bo justified in his claims or is he just whining because we lost?

It was actually him answering a question about the game not making a statement about it.. was taken out of context. I was amused at Dantonio's response though haha.
