Love the phrasing there. Yes I have the humor of an eight year old. Sue me.

How long can it remain erect? That's the big, and rather hard to answer question.MTO wrote:The main shaft is fully erect.......... so you can get a perspective of its finished height.

If it's anything longer than four hours, an IV shunt will be needed to decrease the erection.

Does this include the 4th floor for the biocontainment training facility?

It's still subject to state funds. What I hear is second hand, but talk is that the university and state really wants it to keep Nebraska in the spot light as a leader in bio containment.

Re: University of Nebraska Medical Center
Saw a drawing yesterday of the cancer center in its finished form from a couple new views. In each, the parking garage to the West of the circle drive was gone. I don't know if it was to allow for a better view of the finished cancer center, but none of the pics I saw would have obstructed it very much.

Re: University of Nebraska Medical Center
Hmm well that is such a necessary place to park. There are constantly people popping in to hit up the pharmacy or to get blood drawn etc. etc. even if they opted the relax ate the parking facility the only other options would be much farther from its current location. And even with skywalks with moving sidewalks patients would have to travel quite a bit from their car to those high traffic services. But maybe the current situation is unique with other major hospitals not have the convenience.

Supposedly the large parking garage to the South of the circle will be made patient parking only and for the cancer center. They can add on ( I think) three more levels.

Haven't heard that Lot 50 will gonpt only. Have heard that the current pt parking will eventually go away as it is aging past it's engineered life expectancy.

Where did the title change of this thread come from? I didn't see anything online.

I was able to restore the titles last night. 220 rooms with ground floor retail? Thats what a guest on Grow Omaha shared.MSizlack wrote:Heard the hotel is going to be delayed. Another tower crane will interfere with helicopter traffic to much. They will probably wait till one of the towers building the cancer center comes down.

They have 3 landing pads, the low one next to Clarkson and then two on top of of the Hospital. I am assuming the hotel would close the lower Clarkson pad, correct? And does the Cancer Center have one of the two upper pads closed also?MSizlack wrote:Recent meeting at NeMed, they are doing what they can to not to delay the hotel. I think I heard there will be new landing pads on top of the cancer center when its finished.

Re: Nebraska Medicine
Currently 2 roof top pad with only one open and the Clarkson pad. Cancer center will have 2 pad with a 3rd possible if needed in the future. The temporary pads will probably be in the parking lot on the South-West corner of Farnam and Saddle Creek. Sounds like they need to vote on the temporary pads (for cash) to get it done. They are trying hard not to delay the UNMC hotel.

FYI iamjacom, I don't know the rules about drone use, but recently one was seen by UNMCsecurity and passed along to OPD and FAA as a concern to the opporation of the medical helicopters.

Just a guess from what I have read, as long as the landing pad at the hospital is not classified as an "Airport", I think they are fine as long as they stay below 400'.MSizlack wrote:FYI iamjacom, I don't know the rules about drone use, but recently one was seen by UNMCsecurity and passed along to OPD and FAA as a concern to the opporation of the medical helicopters.

Again, I have idea about rules with drones. I over heard a representative of LifeFlight mention it to a UNMC manager at a meeting in March when they where discussing concerns about the tower crane that the developer will be putting up for the hotel. Don't want anyone to get in trouble.
