Bummer on Illinois going down. They played well today. I will admit when I'm wrong. I never ever saw the Big 10 being this good in baseball. Icing on the cake would have been coming to Omaha. It will not be as much of a cake walk in that conference as I had believed.

One good thing about a lot of the big time programs making it. We have all four of the Gold Spikes Award finalists in town.

The baseball gods spoke in the CSF UL game. The UL pitcher got out of a huge jam and mouthed off at the CSF bench and he comes back in the next inning and is too wound up, gets pulled and CSF scores enough the rest of the way to win.

Baseball America suggesting they move the MLB Draft to Omaha to combine it with the CWS festivities.

http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/dr ... ft-boards/
Now the draft is a TV show, and this might be the last time it is held at MLB Network’s studios. Plans for 2016 are far from set, but MLB intends to make the draft a bigger deal and wants to bring it to fans. Perhaps it will move to Omaha, site of the College World Series. It would be a BA dream to put two of our favorite events together like that.

Is that a pep band from each school? I think that would add to the excitement. I am not sure a generic band playing each schools songs would be the same. If each school had their own band made up of current students, they obviously would add more because they care more for their respective school.

More news that said MLB Network has already been to town to scout potential locations. There was some worry about having it the Thursday before the series b/c it could be a distraction.

Really great seeing that new ball pay off with good offensive performances. I like a pitching duel as much as the next guy, but HRs are more exciting to me.

There are helicopter rides being given on the cb side of the river by heartland helicopter services for $30 per person. Looks to be about a 10 minute ride around downtown. It would qaulify being in the transportation thread, but after talking to the operators, it sounded like they were doing specifically in conjuction with the cws to capitalize on the increased foot traffic around the bridge.

Game 4: Fullerton vs Vanderbilt is going to conclude starting @ 2pm today. Game 5 will start 55 min after the conclusion of Game 4 and Game 6 will start 55 min after the conclusion of Game 5. It could be a late night for baseball in Omaha.

Wow, beat they are glad the game was postponed.

With Game 4 completed around 3:10, and Game 5 starting around 4 pm, it looks like everything is going to run 2 hrs late tonight.
