Where are we at down there? Are we beyond the 'Wallstreet stage' yet?

Considering they have at least filled in some dirt and not left a giant hole....I would say so.

How long does Surcharge have to be on the site before they remove it? Is it dependant on the soil?

The new info hasn't been super clear IMO, but as I understand it the lot that they tore up will be the only parking garage.

One thing I hadn't considered is where they plan to put the lobby of the hotel. Capitol sits much higher than Cass where the Hilton sits. The 10th street hill is not joke right there either. Will be interesting to see how they integrate the entrance along 10th into the streetscape.

Since all the time schedules available are clearly out the window, do we know if they will build the apartments at the same time as the hotel?

Based off what I've heard the hotel before the rest.

Reading this on a Nebraska-China economic website is a little scary though. I am hoping if there are Chinese investors in this project that their current economic situation is not going to stall the project. I know of at least a couple other projects nationally that are on hold because of what's happened.

I thought they said they were gonna start the development in phases but it should all be completed by the same time. And shouldn't there be a parking garage right in that rendering or is it just to right out of the picture?

MCL is supposed to build the apartment building which makes me think they wont start until they take the crane at the med center down.

I thought all the parking was going to be underground?

I thought it was underground too but wouldn't they have had to start digging down and not put the surcharges on? Or would they still do that and then dig down? I don't really know how it works.

From what you can see in the pictures, the surcharges are only where the hotel and apartment tower are going to be sitting. They said in the PDF that underground parking will be under the plaza area. So they could still do the surcharges and dig down for the underground parking at the same time.

I think I heard the hotel's base will start construction right after labor day and the frame soon after. I'll have to ask my uncle more about it.

Whats the entertainment venue going to be? A science museum or natrual history museum would be cool

If it's anything like Power and Light, it will likely be a large open bar-type area. There may be bouncers at the entrance to the plaza itself, and once you pay your cover, you bounce from bar to bar.

That seems like a waste to have a bunch of drunk idiots insted of a museum. Plus who would want to have a condo or office right next to a plaza full of yelling people.

The Old Market seems to do just fine with their drunk idiots. There wouldn't be enough space there for a museum, plus, the Durham is right down the road. The whole intent of the place was to be an entertainment district, similar to what the Hay Market has going on.

Someone mentioned we'd see progress begin after Labor Day. :banger:

So are the Sir Charges layed out according to the buildings footprint? I notice the backside where the rooftop pool will be is closer to the north than what was on the renders. So possibly a layout change..?

What makes you say that? The portion of dirt that stretches west right by the dirt movers is where the ballroom is going.
