The announcers mentioned that Huff didn't come back in after being subbed out with "what looked to be a shoulder injury"

Huff went down on a hard foul and couldn't even try his FTs, had an ice pack on his shoulder the rest of the game.

According to Creighton's website, tonight's game is sold out. Standing room only tickets can be purchased starting @ 10am this morning. Should be a good matchup.

For a sold out game there are a lot of empty seats here tonight.

Anyone know the McDermott vs Miles record?
We are debating that here...

Great game by Creighton last night....they needed that one. Didn't need to have a 3 game losing streak. They should be able to pick up a win on Saturday vs IUPUI but then the following Saturday is probably their toughest contest of the year @ Oklahoma.

Khyri had a great game with 7 pts, 9 rebs and 7 assts.

The crowd of 17,766 was the 18th largest in Creighton history.

Knowing Creighton, they'll have a close game against IUPUIUIUPUIPPIU, but then somehow beat Oklahoma.

Martin Krampelj is done for the year. Tore his ACL.

As a side note for the up coming game:
Creighton hasn't played an opponent ranked as high as #3 Oklahoma since 1981. I am hoping the Jays at least have a better showing than they did @ Indiana.

I am sure he can get a medical RS considering he played so little. Probably for the best b/c he wasn't really a rotation guy anyways.

I agree. It might be great for him to get a year of experience in the program as well. Unfortunately he won't be working out with the team and probably not traveling with them but he can still watch practice and attend home games. For a foreign player to get that experience, it will pay dividends in the future. I still think he may be an effective weapon for Creighton in the next few years.

Big 3 from Khyri Thomas at the buzzer. Jays down 38-45 at half. If Creighton can cut down on some of their unforced turnovers, they have a chance.

Jays lose 74-87. We were only down by 3 with 5 min to go. Not sure why we had no point guard on the floor, but 2 consecutive turnovers and the lead was double digits. Proud of the way Creighton played. Game was a lot closer than the final score. Mo Watson finished with 19 pts, 7 assts and 5 rebs and only 1 turnover which didn't occur until 6 min left in the game.

Jays played as well as they could. Unfortunately, they can't go long stretches without the wheels falling off. Oklahoma fell asleep for a bit in the second half, and Creighton shot well to get within a point. But a bad turnover turned into about an 8-0 run for the Sooners. Jays fought back into the game again but then gave up another run. Oklahoma got out to a big lead in the first half too.

This type of effort from Creighton would have beaten Loyola and should lead to a few more league wins this season.

Great showing for facing the #3 team in the country, at their place, with their All American.

If they hadn't of dropped ASU and Loyola, this might be a tourney team. But, it is what it is.

Groselle had a career-high 27 pts last night. He is now 7th in the nation in field goal % @ .705.
Hanson had a career-high 13 pts.
The biggest performance goes to Ronnie Harrell with career-highs of 14 pts, 11 rebs and 5 assts. He looked really good, hustling all over the floor. The only down side was his 3-9 shooting and only being 7-12 from the free throw line. With his length and ball-handling skills, it would be nice to see him get some more playing time.

I thought Kugler did a good job on the broadcast, showing spacing problems outside shooters will pose for teams, some players with different skill sets that will be hard match-ups, this certainly is a whole different team. I should have written down a stat, something like they have more layups so far this season than they did all of last?

Prior to last night's game this is one stat:

Creighton has put down 21 dunks in 11 regular-season games as a unit this year.
By comparison, Creighton had 29 dunks in 33 regular-season games all of last season.

They seem to be attacking the basket more this year than relying on the outside jumper. I don't know what has gotten into Groselle, but the guy is turning into a beast, that 4-5 pass that he got (from Hansen?) for a put in was amazing.

I wish that pass was from Hansen because I'd like to see Hansen at the 4 spot occasionally. The pass was from Harrell, I think.

Heard last night on the radio that only 300 tickets remain for Creighton's Big East home opener vs Villanova on Sat @ 9 pm.

Good win by the Jays today winning 80-70 over St. Johns. Groselle had his streak of 21 straight field goals snapped but finished with 22 pts and 5 rebs. Watson had 17 pts and 8 assts and Cole Huff had 16 pts and 11 rebs. Up next is Nova @ 9pm on Saturday @ the CLink with less than 200 tickets remaining.

Big game for the Jays tonight. Georgetown is good, but certainly beatable. If the Jays are going to go .500 in conference this year these are the exact games you have to have.

Indeed.

They've GOT to play better defense than they did against Nova...and let's be honest, that wouldn't be hard to do.

Teams will be spending a lot of energy double teaming him, this will lead to some nice guard play...

His 14 assist today were the most by a CU player in 41 years.

Huge road win for Creighton against a team people are thinking will go to the dance...

These are the games the Jays needed to win in order to go at least .500 in the Big East. Hopefully they can keep up the pace.
