A photo I grabbed of Augie in 2015 when Texas played in Lincoln as a non conf game. This was as the teams were warming up and right at the base of the visitors dugout near the outfield end. After this I walked up to him and asked if I could shake his hand. This turned into a 15 Min conversation about college baseball that I will never forget. Seemed to be a very genuine and down to earth guy with that brief crossing of paths to get an impression.

Probably one of the best college baseball coaches ever. His teams were always fun to watch, Texas or Cal State Fullerton. RIP

Producer Steven Bochco After his success at NBC with "Hill Street Blues" and "L.A. Law," Bochco negotiated a then-unprecedented 10-series deal with ABC, which yielded the aforementioned "NYPD Blue" (a long-running hit) and "Cop Rock," as well as "Doogie Houser M.D."

I used to watch Harry Anderson on "Night Court" when I was a kid. The show's theme song was pretty awesome, too.

I don't think people realize how well known he was around the world, and how important an ambassador he was for this country. CNN is watched around the world, and each country he featured was very proud of the fact that any entity in the United States gave them positive attention. This is a great loss for the world community.

Gerda's was probably one of the first non chain resturants I went to when I moved to Omaha. We didn't go often, but every time we did she was there.

Sad to see this. Hopefully someone steps forward and buys the restaurant to carry on her tradition.

That's sad, I didn't read up on it but figured that his health wasn't that great since he is never on the show anymore. Although staged, I really love this show along with American Pickers.

About 15 years ago, it seems that it went all in for WW2. All Hitler, All the time. When they lost audience over that, it seems to me that they lost their way and started producing crappy history shows and went to the goof ball shows it is now known for. I have basically given up on it.

That's too bad! :(

I'm not a regular viewer but I sometimes watch it when I'm channel surfing when nothing of note is on. He was quite the character.

A number of years back we stopped into their shop when in the area, I mostly just wanted to say I was there. :) None of the "stars" were there at the time. Here are a couple of shots.

The one thing I remember is that of the items they had for sale, of those I knew the common street prices, were wayyyyyy overpriced. They did have quite a bit of the shop set aside for swag.

John McCain's legacy is that he was going to be the next president until he shot himself in the foot and picked Sarah Palin. He got to where he was in politics by knowing how to play his cards right but after he pulled the ding bat for vice president card he was damaged goods.
